6 Months Later"Leo Sylas Rodge."
I was a bundle of nerves walking onto the stage. Twelve years of school, and this was it—walking the stage to finish it off. It went by in a blur, receiving my diploma, shaking a few hands, and I was free.
As Mia and I sat there, a mix of relief and disbelief washed over me in equal measure. The good and the bad of twelve years of school had culminated in this single moment.
"Can you believe it?" She whispered, her eyes full of relief.
"I know, right?" I replied, unable to hide my smile. "We're finally done."
Mia had been not only my sister but also my supporter through the highs and lows of high school. Despite the drama from my relationship with Corbin, she always tried her best to do what was best for me. From tough love to gentle words... to downright needing to mind her own business, she was there for me.
The ceremony continued around us, speeches blending into a background buzz as our thoughts turned inward. I couldn't help but think about all the moments that had led to this day.
As we percessed out of the stadium, I waved to our mom, Chloe, and other family members. Turning my head to the other side of the stadium, I spotted my friends, Sam, Ryan, and of course, Corbin.
Between the number of invitation tickets Mia and I received, I had enough to invite them. Mia covered our family and let me invite the people she warned me about all those months ago. Funny how life works sometimes, huh?
After all the pictures and seemingly endless praise, our graduation was over. Not that I could say I was particularly sad about it. Sitting in those uncomfortable chairs for the past two hours puts it into perspective.
I rode with my mom, Chloe, and Mia to lunch. My mom insisted. After my mother found out about my relationship with Corbin, someone who was close to her age, she still insisted he come along to lunch with us.
Mia wasn't a fan, but Chloe didn't let her put a damper on the day.
I knew that someday Mia would warm up to Corbin. After she see's that Corbin's not just using me for my innocence, she'll simmer down, I'm sure.

"So, Leo, have any plans for college?" Sam asked. It was later in the evening, the club would open within the hour, but Corbin wanted me to have time to spend with Sam and Ryan before tonight.
"I got into the University of Vermont. Not sure what exactly I want to major in though." I said, swirling my drink. Ryan had snuck me a fruity mixed drink with nearly no alcohol. Illegal? Yes, but I swear I was drinking fruit juice more than anything. Honestly, he may have lied about putting any alcohol in it at all.
"No kidding?" Ryan perked up. He had been lazily wiping down the bar before the club opened for the night. "You should try to get into Sam's classes, he's great."
"Oh, yeah! I forgot you were a professor there," I said, looking at Sam. "What do you teach?" I questioned.
"I teach English 101 through 105," Sam said. I assume it's because we're talking about his professional work, but he seems so... teacherly. In fact, his teaching skills definitely show when he teaches classes at the club.
Ryan rolled his eyes. "Don't get me wrong, I'm not just saying he's a great professor because he's my boss. His class was the first class that I passed with flying colors."
Sam scoffed. "You only passed so graciously because I took pity on you," Sam stated. "Leo won't need my pity though. He's a great student,"
"A student learning bdsm shit is completely different from a student in a gen ed class," Ryan chuckled, playfully arguing with Sam.
