Long Chapter today <3

A blaring noise tore me from sleep. I sat up in bed and took out my phone. I shut the alarm off and checked my notification queue. I had a few notifications from emails and such, but there were two that stood out to me. One from Corbin and another from Trey

I decided to open Corbin's text first. The message simply said, 'Text me when you wake up, -Corbin'. I left a little heart emoji as response to his note.

Next was Trey's text. 'I need you to work tomorrow. No more taking days off when you don't feel like coming in. I apologize for what I did to you, but you know I don't ask too much of you if I don't need to. I wouldn't have had to discipline you if you had only followed instructions'. His 'apology message' was backhanded and dismissive.

I didn't reply. There's nothing I could reply with that wouldn't make me sound rude. So, I just acted like I had never read it. Corbin's message started my day off good, and I'm not going to let Trey butcher that for me.

I sprang out of bed and got ready for school.

The morning went by like a rocket. When you start your days off good, they always seem to fly by. While in my third class, Corbin messaged me back. He asked if he could come over around five. I told him that was more than okay. I'd never turn him down!

When the school bell rang, I darted to Chloe's car. She was busy changing the music playlist when I approached.

"Oh! Leo, you're here early." Chloe said, "Mia and I are going to look at a few apartments in the city. Wanna come?" She asked.

"What?! Are you guys getting your own apartment?" I nearly yelled.

"Well, duh! My apartment doesn't have a very large bedroom, so Mia and I had to start looking for a new place to live." I opened my mouth to speak but was cut off by Mia, who silently crept up on me from behind.

"Don't worry, you can stay with us if you'd like." Mia appeared behind me as I talked with Chloe.

"That's okay. I like our apartment. I just need to find another job or roommate, and I'll be fine!" I said half-heartedly. It really hurt me that neither of them discussed moving out with me beforehand. That isn't just something you spring upon someone.

I didn't speak about my displeasure since I didn't want to kill their vibe. They seemed happy, and I didn't want to ruin that for them.

"Could you drop me off at home? I have some chores to finish. Also, around five or so, I have a friend coming over." I told them as Mia sat in the passenger seat and I sat in the back.

Mia turned around and scrunched her face, giving me a funny look. "The same friend as last night?" She mocked. I playfully hit her and laughed in my seat.

They drove me home, and I went up to my room. I plopped onto my bed and laid there for a hot minute. Letting out a groan, I forced myself to stand back up and grab my laundry basket.

I tossed my clothes in the washer and hit start. The machine started to churn and shake as it soaked my clothes. I ran to my room and threw random things into my closet. There's no way I'm gonna have an untidy room.

I mean, Corbin did see my room last night, but I'm not going to be embarrassed about it this time! I also threw my school bag into my closet. I know you should never lie about things since they always come to light, but I don't want to throw this relationship away yet!

I really like Corbin, and I don't want him to ditch me because of my age. And it's not as if I'm underage either. I'm a legal adult—well, not for drinking, but that doesn't matter; I don't even like alcohol.
