I didn't go to school the next day. Or the day after that, not even for the rest of the week. Ryan made an effort to console me and help with my missing schoolwork, but nothing seemed to fix me.

Talk about a bad break up, right?

I was lying in bed with my room dark as I watched ticktocks under my covers. Despite my occasional laughs, I wasn't truly happy. My head started to ache from the countless hours I spent on my phone.

It was five in the morning, and I couldn't sleep anymore, so my phone was my only escape from reality.

I heard a loud knocking on my bedroom door, followed by the door creaking open.

"What do you want?" I asked the unknown person.

"Leo, will you please come to school today? They're going to start questioning how long you've been 'sick'." She said with emphasis on the last word.

"I don't want to," I stated firmly, resuming my phone.

"Rock, paper, scissors?" She asked.

I came out from the covers and looked at her like a maniac. "That's ridiculous, no."

"Exactly. If it's so ridiculous, then you shouldn't have a problem doing it."

"Fine." I rolled my eyes. If playing a child's game would allow me peace and quiet, then I had no problem with it.

She walked over to me and sat on the edge of the bed, holding her hands up. "If I win, you go to school. If you win, you get to stay home, deal?"

"Yeah, whatever,"

I held my hands up with her, and in sync, we made our move. I chose rock, and she chose paper.

"That's rigged, let's go two out of three," I suggested.

"No, I won fair and square. Do you need help getting ready for school?" She asked.

My room had become a mess since it was the only space I confined myself to.

"No." I plopped back down on my bed and put my hands on my face. Mia left and closed my door on her way out. I rubbed my face, feeling the excessive oil build up. I dug through my laundry to find a clean set of clothes that were school ready.

I went straight to the shower to rid myself of any smells and grime. I may have been hella depressed, but I would never go out in public looking like a rat. If I ever did, then it's because I had no choice in the matter.

I brushed my teeth and combed my hair. I used the lightest amount of makeup to cover my eye bags and sunken cheeks. Makeup could do wonders, such as imitate my one hundred and twenty pounds, despite my body weight being closer to one hundred now.

With the use of cosmetics, my cheeks looked full, and I looked rejuvenated, but that was all just for show. I wish makeup could get me to feel better, not only look better.

I had chosen a pair of short shorts that would show the bottoms of my ass cheeks if I bent over. I wore a small sweatshirt with nothing under it. All of my larger sweatshirts had been dirty and probably smelled bad from my constant wearing of them.

I slung my bag over my shoulder and went out to the kitchen, where Mia and Chloe were. Chloe had made eggs and sausage for breakfast.

"Would you like-" Chloe started.

"No, I'm not hungry."

Chloe sighed at my dismissal. "You need to eat." She stated.

"I will when I'm hungry," I excused. "Plus, we have to leave for school," I added.
