Kelly- A New Baby Pt2

I drop Harper off at day care and run to the store and grab a box of pregnancy tests. Quickly heading home and to the bathroom I pee on the stick and wait for the results. Kelly sits on the edge of the bath tub while I sit on the toilet seat
"It's going to be positive. You threw up again this morning" Kelly smiles
"I don't want you to get your hopes up Kel. There's a chance I might just have a bug from Harper"
"But there's a higher chance of you being pregnant, because Harper hasn't been ill"
"Well we will see in a couple of minutes"
"If hypothetically it isn't positive, we can always try again. But you my beautiful wife, are pregnant" I laugh shaking my head at him.
We wait for the timer to go off and when it does I pick the stick up
"And?" Kelly asks me with that smile as if to say he already knows
"I'm pregnant" I smile in defeat that he was right all along. Kelly lifts me up making me squeal "how the hell is Harper going to react?" I ask nervously. Kelly puts me down
"Whatever happens we will get through it together" he kisses my forehead.

We tell Harper not long after I find out that I'm pregnant, in hopes that she will come round to the idea before I give birth
"Ok Harper. Mommy and daddy have something to tell you"
"What is it?" Harper frowns at me
"Mommy has a baby in her tummy. So in October you will have a brother or sister" Kelly explains. Tears start to run down her face as she cries
"But I don't want a baby. Your my mommy and daddy not theirs" she points at my stomach
"Harper. We will always be your mommy and daddy and we will love you both so much"
"No you'll love them more than me!" she shouts
"I promise you that we won't" Kelly puts Harper on his lap
"No!" Harperscreams as me and Kelly try to comfort her. Tears start to form in my eyes
"Come on Harper. Won't it be nice to have a brother or sister to play with?" Kelly wipes her eyes
"No!" she shouts again and crosses her arms with a frown
"You know you might even like the baby when they're born"
"No mommy I won't. I only want you and daddy. No more only us and dogs" I sigh feeling defeated as she runs off. Kelly places his arm around my shoulder and kisses my cheek
"She'll warm up to the idea"
"I hope so"

"Can you give the baby back?" Harper ask me after I finish reading her a book
"No Harper"
"But I don't want a brother or a sister" she pouts
"I know, but me and daddy did want another baby"
"But I don't"
"Wouldn't you like to a friend to play with?"
"Why don't you give the baby to auntie Gabby"
"But I want the baby. Why don't you go to sleep. You might feel differently"
"I won't" I sigh kissing Harper on the head before getting out of her bed and switching the light off
"I love you" I tell her
"Love you to mommy" I pull her door to and head downstairs
"Well that didn't go very well" I say sitting on the couch with Kelly
"She's used to being an only child. It's a big change for her"
"She's stubborn, like her dad" I cross my arms
"Give her time. We can talk to Hermman, see if he's got any ideas on how we can help her"
"That's not a bad idea actually"
"I'll have a word with him tomorrow"
