Will- Storm and Injuries

Trigger warning- car accident and hospital

YN and Will loved one another, but both were to afraid to admit those feelings. Jay tried to set his partner and his brother up on dates as it was painfully obvious to everyone around them that they were in love, they would flirt with each other whenever they were together and they would. It had been very cold in Chicago the last week and it had even snowed the last couple of days. However a blizzard was to hit Chicago today and Will wanted to make sure that his best friend was safe, so he picked her up from work at the end of both of their shifts, Jay wanting to stay late to finish up any paperwork he needed to do.

"Damn it it's already starting to snow" YN says sighing
"We will get to my apartment before it comes down fall force don't worry" Will glances at YN smiling before looking back to the road. YN hoped Will would be right, but the snow starts to get heavier and heavier as the minutes pass by. YN turns the heater up in the car when she is jolted forward. Will barley misses a car driving on their side of the road, sending Will and YN into a ditch. The car flips a few times but ultimately ends up, up right.
A conscious Will turns to check on YN, but starts to worry when she doesn't respond to him calling her name
"Shit YN, I need you to wake up" Will unbuckled himself and checks YNs heartbeat and breathing "I'll get us some help, ok just need to you wake up" Will searches for his phone, finding it smashed on the floor by YNs feet. Thankfully the phone wasn't so broken that Will wasn't able to ring anyone. His first instinct is to ring his brother, Jay, but unfortunately the signal was so bad that all Jay was able to make out was that Will and YN were in trouble.

At the precinct all chaos broke loose trying to ping Wills cellphone to where YN and Will may be so that they can send an ambulance there. The storm only getting worse and worse made it harder as phone lines quickly went down. Back at the car YN stirs earning a sigh of relief from Will
"Will? What happened?" The young woman croaks
"Car accident. Can't open the door, but I've rang Jay and he's going to get us out. Promise"
"M'cold" YN shivers
"I know. Are you in pain?" YN slowly nods her head groaning "can you tell me where?"
"Head. Stomach, ribs I think"
"Shit ok. I don't want you to move. You may have a concussion and something else may be going on internally. I need you to stay awake now YN. Can you do that?"
"M'tired Will" YN says closing her eyes
"YN don't you dare close those eyes" Will threatens. YN slowly opens them up again and looks at Wills worried face
"Is it bad?"
"Your going to be fine"
"Aren't doctors not meant to lie to their patients?"
"1 your not my patient. 2 you are going to be ok" once again YN shivers, but now her face contorts with pain radiating all over her body. Will shimmies his jacket off and lays it on her body "I'm going to hold you as best I can ok? It's going to hurt but you need to warm up"
"Ok" Will gets as close as he can to YN and holds her close trying to share his warmth. YN groans tears threatening to spill
"Tell me something"
"Like what?"
"Anything. How was your shift?"
"Made a huge drug bust, got to make a couple arrests. Just a typical day, well except for me waking in on Erin and Jay kissing" YN jokes making them both laugh, but then YN stops wincing at the pain. Once again she yawns worrying Will
"No sleeping"
"Sorry. Tell me about your day"
"Wasn't that entertaining, although I did get a phone thrown at me by a dementia patient. They always amazes me how strong they can be" Will chuckles
"Don't underestimate an elderly woman or a man on a mission" YN jokes back.

Hours pass, it's now early hours the following morning and Will keeps YN talking but the moment he doesn't hear a reply from YN panic sets in
"YN? No no no YN wake up come on. Shit" Will once again tries to get out of the car, but once again fails. Trying to use his phone again he tried to ring Jay but since the phone lines are down he doesn't get through. Tears start falling. Will wasn't able to tell YN how he feels and now he may never get the chance to tell her how much he actually loves her. Thankfully within 20 minutes Will hears sirens and is finally face to face with his brother and Severide
"How you doing?" Severide shouts
"I'm fine but I'm worried about YN. Get her out first" with a nod, Severide runs to the other side of the car with Cruz and Capp. They pry the door open and Gabby is there immediately with a board for Capp and Joe to lay her on and lift her up the ditch to the ambulance. Will climbs over the seats and gets out himself running after Gabby and the others "can I ride with her?"
"Sure jump in"

YN wakes to an annoying beeping sound, but also a warm hand in hers. YN slowly opens her eyes having to adjust to the light. Will notices YN stirring so gets her a cup of water. Carefully he helps her sit up and take a sip, YN coughs a little as the water goes down the wrong way
"Carful. How are you feeling?" Will asks
"Errrm sore. Head still hurts" croaks
"It will for a bit. You got a pretty nasty concussion, broken ribs and you also ended up getting hypothermia"
"Damn. How long have I been asleep?"
"2 days, haven't left your side"
"Have you eaten?"
"Yeah. Jay brought food. Sat with you when I went to wash. YN I need to tell you something. When I was in the car I was so scared, I thought I was going to loose you"
"Will" YN squeezes his hand a little
"No YN I need to say this. YN I love you. I love you more than a best friend. I have for a while"
"Will..."
"YN let me finish. When I thought I was loosing you I knew that if I had the chance to tell you I would, even if you don't feel the same way"
"Will. I love you too"
"You do?"
"Yes. I think truthfully I have loved you since I first saw you"
"Well how about when you get out of here and your feeling better I take you on a date?"
"I'd like that" YN smiles at Will. He places a kiss on her knuckles. For the rest of the day Will stays by YNs side laughing and joking. Relieved that YN was ok and they will be able to explore the feelings they have been hiding from each other for years.
