Lena Bosko. The firefighter was Lena Bosko with the 136, the only unaccounted for firehouse.
I helped Bobby organise the survivors and provide first aid while he sent Eddie up to help Lena on the Ferris Wheel. The structure kept shaking every few seconds but they managed to pull off a miracle rescue with the help of the coastguard. Then, they managed to pull an even more daring escape, jumping off the Ferris wheel as they debris forced it to collapse, the tsunami receding back into the sea.
I hated that Bobby wouldn't let me help, I knew Saunderson wouldn't have even thought about it. I'd have been up there, rescuing people probably with Jason or Kata, but now, I was patching up bumps and bruises. Still, I had to accept the fact that Bobby knew what Eddie was capable of, he had no clue if I could do the same rescues so he didn't want to risk it so I couldn't complain. A plaster over a wound was still a rescue.
We made our way back to the head of the pier a few minutes later, finally getting out of the dingy as the water levels dropped slowly and Captain Nash called for a truck to be sent our way.
"Our team is still stuck on the other side. Our trucks can't get through just yet. Earth movers are still clearing the roads," Bobby explained over his shoulder,
"118's hoofing it for a while," Eddie sighed, pulling his kit higher up his shoulder.
"It looks that way. Hen and Chimney are readying some turnout backpacks until we're mobile again," Bobby continued before pausing, turning to Lena who was walking besides me. "Bosko, your crew from your house are all alive and accounted for except for Captain Cooper. He's still MIA. I'm sorry."
"Well, if it's all the same to you, Captain, I'm gonna stick around and look for him," Lena decided. I almost winced, waiting to hear him reprimand her for wanting to go solo but it didn't come.
"Why are you holding yourself like that?" He asked instead, his concern clear.
"It's nothing, bruised rib," Lena replied easily but from the way she was holding herself it was very clear she was lying.
"Let me take a look at that," Eddie offered, taking a step towards her.
"I said it's nothing," Lena snapped back,
"Clearly, it's not," Eddie pushed again but Lena sneered at him, her anger heightening,
"Are you gonna drop this?!"
"Hey, Bosko, let him have a look," Bobby demanded, "I'm not asking."
Lena glanced at me and I shrugged, mumbling softly, "I'd have your back but it wouldn't change anything. You're better off just doing as you're told."
Lena scoffed, finally giving up and letting Eddie get close enough to check her out. The minute he pressed his fingers to her ribs, she let out a loud hiss, flinching away.
"Yeah, that's not a bruise, it's broken," it almost sounded like Eddie was gloating over being right, "Must be hurting like a bitch."
"Yeah, well, breathing isn't super fun," Lena huffed out,
"I'm calling it. You're off the field," Bobby ordered but Lena immediately jumped to protesting.
"Sir, I said I'm fine."
"USAR Command is setting up the VA hospital on Sawtelle," Bobby continued as if she hadn't spoken, turning to Eddie, "I want you to stick with her just in case her desire to track down her captain causes her to lose her way. Emma and I are gonna meet up with the 118. Rendezvous with us when you can."
