"Okay, here's a question I never thought I'd care enough to ask," I huffed out, turning away from the mirror, "how do I look?"

Hollis snorted, lowering the juice pouch she'd been drinking from, "Hot. I'd bang you."

I gagged playfully, turning back to the mirror and smoothing out my sundress again, "Well, at least I know that if he won't, you will."

"Relax," Hollis groaned, flopping back on my bed, "you look great. He should just appreciate that you gave him the time."

"Hollis!"

 "I'm not wrong!"

"Okay, which one is better? The blue one or this black one?" I turned from the mirror, spreading my arms out.

"Uh... the black one?" Buck squinted at me, "Are you sure this one is different from the other one you tried on an hour ago?"

A flare of annoyance shot through me, "It's obviously different."

"Of course, it's different," Carla mused, walking into the bedroom with two cups of tea, handing one out to Buck. "This one has a thin white line going across it."

A groan left me throat, and I immediately reached to pull off the shirt again, "You're right, what was I thinking?! A white line is so tacky."

"I did not say that!" Carla protested, "It looked fine!"

"Fine is not good or great," I huffed, looking through all my shirts again. "Maybe I should try a button-up?"

"Add a tie while you're at it, why don't you?" Carla snorted, "I thought you said you've known this woman a long time. Why are you so nervous?"

"Because it's different now," I pulled a black button-up off my hanger, "I want more than a friendship now."

Carla hummed in response before walking over to me, smoothing down my shirt, "So she's the one?"

My heart stuttered, but I tried to play it off casually, "I'm going to hope so." I could see Buck grinning in the background, but I chose to ignore that and focus on Carla's approving smile.

She fixed my collar slightly before nodding, "I think this one is perfect."

"Right," I checked Hollis's compact mirror again before stuffing it into my bag, "I'm all dolled up and ready. Where's Adonis?"

"Caden is still trying to put his collar on him!" Hollis called out from inside the bathroom.

"That dog will be the death of me," I huffed, throwing my bag down before I stormed through my house, "Adonis!"

A bark greeted me as I barged into my guest room, finding Caden trying to get on top of my dog, yelling, 'Giddy-Up!'

It was Eddie's idea to go to a park. He'd thought it would be quaint enough to talk, and there was apparently a café that Buck had recommended. It did happen to be a dog park, though, so Adonis became the third wheel on the date.
