EMMA

"Make sure to run a CT just in case," Chimney hurried after the nurses wheeling me through the hospital.

"And blood work," Hen called out, "make sure to note any potential fluctuations!"

"She's allergic to nuts, so don't put any near her!" Buck yelled out as well.

"Keep a constant eye on her oxygen levels and heart rate," Eddie added on sternly, "at all times, secondary drowning is very real and very serious."

The doctor sighed in frustration, stopping abruptly, making the nurses stop as well before he turned on his heels, looking them all over. His eyes stopped on Bobby, and he raised his brow, "Anything to add?"

Bobby shrugged, smiling widely, "She's a very valued member of our team."

"I've noticed," the doctor muttered dryly, "I'll try not to kill her between going up in the elevator and taking her to her room."

"That would be greatly appreciated," Bobby beamed, holding back Buck, who wanted to follow us into the elevator.

All the scans came back normal, and all the blood work was the same. There were no abnormalities at all. All I was really suffering from was a great lack of clothes.

"Alright," Hen sighed, coming back into the hospital room I'd just been wheeled back into, "the men are outside, you are safe to get changed."

"Fun little thing to mention," I sighed, dragging my hand through my hair, knots catching my fingers, "I don't have any clothes, and Eddie kissed me."

Hen froze, her face going through a number of emotions before she gasped loudly, crossing the room in two long strides, "What?!"

"My thoughts exactly, actually," I laughed weakly, lowering myself lower into the bed, "Oh my God."

"Uh huh!" Hen yelped, "I'll say! When did this happen?"

"The clothes or the kiss?" I tilted my head, "Cause the answer is the same but it's weird that they both happened at the same time."

"Is it?" Hen suddenly pulled a face, wiggling her eyebrows at me.

"Okay," my cheeks burned red, "one thing at a time, I feel like the Virgin Mary right now, like I've been kissed for the first damn time."

"But you had that thing with Lena?" Hen sat down on the hospital bed, "And that Adam guy had a thing for you?"

I snorted, "Adam's crush lasted up until the point he found out I was in rehab."

Hen cringed, "Never liked him if I'm being honest."

I rolled my eyes playfully, "And Lena was just sex. We both wanted fun and casual." My heart lurched suddenly, "What if Eddie wants fun and casual? I've never brought emotions into fun and casual. That sounds like a recipe for disaster."

"It is," Hen shook her head slowly, "but before you spiral, maybe talk to Eddie first? He's kind of the one with a lot of the answers here."

I nodded slowly, trying to steady my heart again, "Including knowing the answer to the question, 'Where are my clothes?'"

"If you don't want people to think y'all had sex in the back of the ambulance, I wouldn't mention the clothes thing." Hen snorted, trying to fight off her growing smile as she patted my knee. "I'll go see if there's anything in the gift shop down—"
