(This is the sequel/follow up to 'engaging in combat)

A few things happened in the week since Henry and Charles had gotten engaged.

After Henry had popped the question and Charles revealed he was planning to as well, they were both overjoyed.

When they had told the general, he honestly wasn't surprised at all. Anyone with two eyes(or even one eye) could see Henry and Charles were stuck together like glue and duct tape.

So he'd told Henry to 'be good to him or else' and agreed to officiate for the ceremony, since Charles asked him to.

The next few days were spent planning the wedding ceremony and mostly the reception.

It was nothing big or fancy, just them on base, wearing their best clothes, with the general acting as the officiant and the other soldiers acting as witnesses.

They did have rings made though, simple silver bands with "this is the" and "greatest plan" engraved into Henrys and Charles's respectively.

Most soldiers were just excited for the reception, where there would be dancing and cake(The cake would be blue velvet (Henry's favorite cake) and chocolate (Charles's favorite cake) 2-tiered with vanilla buttercream icing and a heart with "H.S. + C.C" in red icing).

It was oddly fitting for them.

On the day of the ceremony, all the soldiers on base had gathered around the cliffside (Henry requested the spot because of the scenic view) and split into two sides, forming an aisle as they got settled.

Henry and The general were standing at the end of the aisle, wearing his finest clothes and feeling a bit anxious.

Galeforce looked to henry. "You nervous?" he asked.

Henry giggles softly. "A little."

Galeforce pats him on the shoulder. "Don't worry, I'm sure you'll do just fine."

Then the soldiers quiet down, quietly whispering. "There he is!" one says.

Henry looks over, spotting his soon-to-be husband.

And he looked glorious.

Charles walks down the aisle wearing basically the same outfit as Henry, just in white, and a pretty flower crown made of Riot daffodils, the same flower that made up the small bouquet he was carrying.

(and of course he wore his iconic red headphones, he hardly ever took those things off.)

He had a big goofy smile on his face as he walked down the aisle, to the wedding music that one of the soldiers was playing on a mini-radio.

Henry swore that he fell in love with him all over again.

When he gets to the end of the aisle, Charles hands his flowers off to Rupert who was sitting in the front row before going to stand across from Henry as the music ends.

The general then begins his speech.

"My fellow soldiers, we are gathered here today to witness the union of Henry Stickmin and Charles Calvin in holy matrimony," he says. "Thank you for being here on this beautiful summer day to join in this momentous occasion."

He looks to the soldiers. "Before we start, are there any objections?"

Of course nobody objected. Who would even want to?

"Very good." The general says with a smile.

He looks to the betrotheds. "Please join hands." .

Henry takes charle's hands in his own, giving him a sweet smile.

"The couple will now exchange their vows."

Charles looks at Henry, silently asking 'can I go first?'

Henry smiles and nods.

Charles smiles back, and takes a deep breath.

"Henry, from the moment I met you, I knew there was something different about you." he begins.

"When you first woke up on that helicopter, I wasn't quite sure I could trust you or what you were about, but after you helped me take down the toppats, I saw you for who you truly were. You might have been a thief, but you were just misguided. A lost soul who needed love and support.

He giggles. "And when you asked me out afterwards, I knew that being your partner would be the best way to love and support you, so of course I said yes.

And since then, we've had so many adventures together, and each moment we spent together made me love you more. Especially after we became special bro-vert ops together."

Charles sniffles a bit. "I love you so much Henry... You truly are my diamond in the rough."

Henry tears up, smiling.

"That was beautiful, charles..." the general says with a soft smile. "Henry, your response?"

Henry nods, and looks into Charles's emerald eyes.

"Charles... to put it simply... you are everything good in my life." he begins.

"Before I met you, I was nothing. I was a thief... a no-good, lowlife criminal who only looked out for himself. I never thought that I'd do anything good in my life... but then I met you.

Charles, the moment I met you, my life went uphill. Ever since the airship mission, when we got together, my life has been better than it ever was. Even in the lowest points, you were always there to help me. I always knew that I wanted to marry you one day."

Henry smiles brightly. "I love everything about you charles... from your beautiful eyes, to your adorable laughter, to your knack for making up cute little plan songs, to everything in between.

I really, truly love you charles, and only you. And there is nothing that will ever change that."

Henry finishes.

Charles cries happily, and resists the urge to kiss him silly right then, since they couldn't yet.

Galeforce wipes his eyes as well. "Well, with those vows, It is my greatest honor to join you two in the bonds of eternal love and happiness." he says happily, then turns to Henry as he and Charles take their rings.

"Henry James Stickmin, do you take Charles to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, as long as you both shall live?"

Henry nods. "I do. I do a million times over and so much more than that."

He says, gently placing his ring on Charles's finger.

Galeforce smiles, then turns to charles. "And Charles Robert Calvin, do you take henry to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and-"

"YES!" Charles interrupts him, making them flinch.

The general looks annoyed. "I wasn't finished."

Charles and Henry giggle. "Sorry, I'm just, really excited."

Charles says, placing his ring on Henry's finger.

The general sighs, then smiles and raises his hand. "Well, with that, I now pronounce you husband and, well, husband!" he says with a small laugh.

"You may kiss your groom."

Finally, Henry pulls Charles close, kissing him more passionately than he ever had before.

The other soldiers clapped, cheered, and whistled for the new husbands joyfully.

Once they pull back, they look into each other's eyes.

"Love ya, fly boy." Henry whispers.

"Love ya too, sketchy." Charles replied.

The two turn to the crowd, holding hands.

The general places his hands on their shoulders.

"I'm proud to present, for the very first time, Henry and Charles Stickvin."
