Charles was in his room, feeling immense dread.

His high school reunion was coming up, and he knew he had to go. Rupert, Dave, and Johnny were planning to go and wanted him to come too, because they were all good friends in school and still are now, and they thought it would be fun.

While Charles did want to go to spend time with his buddies and maybe see some other high school friends, there was one reason why Charles absolutely did NOT want to go.

Back in high school, there was a girl he knew, a girl by the name of Mary Wilson.

Mary had had the BIGGEST crush on him in high school, and would not leave him alone. Always hanging around him, always trying to talk to him, and always asking him out despite Charles clearly telling her he was NOT interested.

When he graduated high school and went off to start his flight training for the military, one of the reasons he was happy was to finally get away from her.

But he knew that Mary was most certainly gonna be at the reunion, and since they hadn't seen each other in a few years, he knew Mary would be all over him if she found out he was still single.

So he needed a date. Or at least a one-time date.

But he didn't wanna ask any of the girls around base, because he knew they probably wouldn't agree, most of them that he was interested in were probably out of his league anyway.

June July was already taken by Sarah Connifers, Turtle Esteban was probably busy with working on her next plan to blow something up, and Captain grit was straight up not interested in him, like, at all. Or any guys for that matter.

And he definitely wasn't asking any guys. Even though he was openly bisexual, and most soldiers accepted him for it, none of them were really interested in him as far as he could tell, and he didn't wanna be made fun of.

Actually, there was only one person he knew that was kinda interested in him.

His best friend and closest confidant, Mr Henry stickmin.

Their relationship was kind of weird.

They both clearly had feelings for one another, and they both knew about each other's feelings, but Charles didn't want anything really serious or committed right now, and Henry accepted that. So their 'relationship' was more like casually seeing each other on the side and playfully flirting with each other around base and stuff like that.

Charles smiles a bit. He knew Henry was always up for mischief, chances are he'd be glad to help with the ruse.

So he gets up and goes to find him.

Standing outside Henry's tent room, he says "knock knock!"

"Come in." Henry replies.

Charles peeks his head in. "Hey Henry, what's up?"

Henry smiles. "Oh hey charlie." he says, moving to sit on the edge of his bed. "Not much, how about you?" he answers.

"Well, I have a kinda weird question." Charles says.

Henry nods. "Ok, shoot."

Charles takes a deep breath, and steps forward.

"Would... would you pretend to be my boyfriend?"

The question caused henry to blush, and not say anything for a bit, until he asked,

"Um... why...?"

Charles sighs.

"Ok look, i gotta go to a high school reunion in a few days, and there's this REALLY annoying girl that had a crush on me in high school, and i know she's gonna be there." he says.
