(this is a sequel to "we can make it if we try)

What kind of feeling do you think you'd have while looking at your own gravestone?

After their month-long journey home, Henry and Charles had finally made it back to the military base, where all their friends were incredibly happy to see they were not dead. They all had a massive party, celebrating them being alive and also a late-celebration of them taking down the toppats, where they all had a fantastic time.

After the party, the two lovers decided to go to Henry's favorite ocean cliffside for some alone time together, only to see two graves with their names on them(literally).

So, they just stared at them awkwardly for a long while as the sun went down and the stars came out.

Then Charles decided to break the silence.

"You know, they really could have made them fancier looking," he says. "I mean, they didn't do any fancy carvings or anything, they're just plain shaped graves."

Henry nods. "I know, right? I always thought my grave was gonna be jewel encrusted or solid platinum or something like that." he says.

Charles giggles. "Ooh, mister fancy pants are we?"

Henry smiles. "Well, maybe not THAT extravagant. But like, maybe they could sprinkle some of those little decorative plastic wedding diamonds over it or something."

Charles leans to kiss him on the cheek. "Henry, you don't need diamonds. You shine enough all on your own."

Henry blushes, smiling. "Awwww, charlie." he says. "You're so sweet you give me cavities."

Charles snickers. "Well if you have cavities, you'll have to yank 'em out yourself, I'm a pilot, not a dentist."

They both laugh, hugging each other.

By this point, the moon was out, the moonbeams reflecting off the ocean ripples like the light of a disco ball.

Charles then gets an idea. "Oh! Hang on!"

He gets his phone out, and starts to play waltz music on it, then puts it away and smiles, holding out his hand to henry.

"Care to dance, my dear sir?"

Henry giggles and blushes, taking it. "But of course."

Charles twirls Henry around, then puts his hands on his waist as Henry puts his hands on his shoulders.

As the two danced and spun around, their eyes and hearts were filled with love.

"I knew we'd make it if we stuck together..." Henry says, smiling gently.

Charles smiled back. "Yeah... I know I can get through anything, if I have you by my side."

Henry strokes his cheek. "You're my bold action man, charles... you always have been."

Charles reaches up to hold his hand. "And you're my master thief, henry. And I hope you never change."

Henry giggles. "I never will."

They peek at the stones, then look in each other's eyes.

"You'll always be my loving soulmate."

They say at the same time before Charles dips Henry, kissing him passionately.

Oh, what a waste of a lovely night this was.

Henry and Charles might have been presumed dead, but they're both alive and well, and their love for one another is no different.
