Danganronpa: Despair to Prodigy's

AV Motive

(Isagi POV)

"A...Motive? Subaru muttered

"That's right!" Monokuma responded cheerfully as ever "Here you will see something that will give you a little boost in confidence! It may also tell you a little something about yourself!"

The room went quiet after that.

"Also, if no one is going to kill then I'm going to get bored, so hurry it up!"

He then disappeared for good.

"It was only one full day since we started...Why did he already give a motive?" Makima asked as she inspected the VHS

"What do you mean?" Emilia asked her back

"I imagine you would give a motive after a few days have passed, or maybe he just assumed that we wouldn't kill no matter what so he didn't want to waste any time and gave them to us right away,"

That certainly made sense, I was also curious about what was on mine. But this was a motive, so was it worth it to go and watch it even if it could be a hint about what is happening to us?

"I recommend no one watches it," Horikita said "This is a motive, if we continue to wait then he won't have any cards to play on us,"

"He could just kill one of us," Issei said dejectedly 

"He won't. If he could do that then then having it all set up like this doesn't make sense. He wants us to kill each other, that is a fact we know,"

Then two people got up, Ayanokoji and Kyoko.

"Where are you two going?" Horikita asked

"To watch the videos obviously," Kyoko responded

"Didn't you hear what I just said? Those are-"

Then cutting her off Bell interjected

"I think they should go, they are missing some memories and Monokuma said that you could learn something about yourself,"

"Yes, but even still-"

"Hey, wait if they're gonna watch it I wanna watch mine. Even if I have my memories," Naruto said

Then everyone joined in, including me. I figure that this is one of those things where either everyone doesn't watch it or everyone does.

"...Fine, but I hope we can at least agree to watch this with our partners since things could be personal. Then only the people who watched it with you would know and unless they or you told someone it would be a secret. I hope that I can trust you to not share secrets,"

Horikita had quite a lot of trust if she really believed that. I was going with Shinobu who was mostly off to the side and distant. But if I saw something in the video that was bad enough to report then screw trust I'll go with the good of the group.

I also think that was another reason she made us go with a partner. If we saw something bad enough she was hoping that someone would say something despite what she said. 

We then all walked over to the AV room.

The first group to enter was Kyoko's. They took about 5 minutes in total and then left, both had a perfect poker face so you couldn't tell what happened.

"So...What was it?" Hestia asked them as they left.

"You will all have to watch it for yourselves, I don't want to say anything about it just yet," Kyoko said.

Next were Rias and Issei, when they came back they looked terrified.

"Soooooo...?" Hestia once again asked

"It shows the people you care about most are either dead or gone. I guess the motive is to actually see if they are dead or if it's just a prank," Issei responded despite looking shaken to his core

"...I see," Horikita said, likely imagining who was important to her.

Then, walking down the hall another person showed up. Noell.

"I also got one of these videos, I would like to watch mine now," She then walked into the room and watched hers all alone. She locked the door as soon as she entered after all.

But when she left 5 minutes later another person followed behind her, and Noell looked pissed.

"How did you get in there?" I asked the magician who managed to sneak in, Cid.

"No one saw me enter the room?" Cid asked

Everyone shook their head no.

'Well, I guess that is the ultimate NPC for you,'

More and more people went and Shinobu and I went in last.

She played her video first, it showed an original-style Japanese house with what appeared to be her sisters, then in the next moment the camera flashed to the same picture and angle but instead of her sisters were piles of blood. The house was also torn up

"No..." Her eyes wavered, even expecting this I guess the shock of it actually happening was a little too much to bear.

"...Remember, we don't know if this is real yet, don't give up," I said as I took her video out and handed it to her.

She took it with wobbly hands and sat down on a chair that was in the room with her head down, I soon heard sobs that she was trying to suppress.

I put my video in and waited for it to start up.

When it did I saw my soccer team, the full team for the Japan U-20. The only one missing was me

"Bachira, Chigiri, Kunigami, Reo, Nagi, Rin, Kurona, All close companions of the famous striker Isagi Yoichi," The video only mentioned the people that I knew well on the team. 

Shinobu's didn't have audio so this was a shock to both of us.

Then, like Shinobu's it was the same photo and angle but with everyone's bodies crushed under a giant stone soccer ball. You couldn't see their faces but you could see arms sticking out and blood.

"..."

I was shocked, I knew it was coming, and I knew to brace myself since I figured this was who I would see, but even so...I can see why someone would kill for this.

"They're fine," I said to no one "Those bastards are enough to give me a little trouble. No way they're just gonna die like that,"

I didn't know if I was talking to try and make myself feel better or if it was what I really thought, but regardless that was what I said.

"Let's go," I said to Shinobu who slowly nodded and got up.

When we left Monokuma was there.

"Wellll...How did you guys like it?" He asked just outside the AV room

"DON'T FUCK WITH ME, YOU BASTARD!" Issei yelled as he grabbed Monokuma "HOW THE HELL WOULD THEY ALL BE DEAD IN SUCH A SORT AMOUNT OF TIME? I SAW THEM JUST BEFORE I WOKE UP IN THIS FUCKED UP PLACE!"

"Aren't you forgetting a rule?" Monokuma said with surprising seriousness. "Let go,"

Right as Issei was about to punch him Horikita gripped his wrist and squeezed making him drop Monokuma 

"Calm yourself," Her tone was firm "I won't let anyone die while I'm here but you all have to make sure to not do anything rash,"

Issei and Horikita glared at each other when Monokuma broke out Laughing.

"HAHAHAHAHA! That was a close one! If you hadn't intervened...Then I wonder what would have happened to our harem maker?"

Monokuma then left. 

The mood was so tense that no one could speak, everyone was scared, nervous, and thinking 'Are they ok?' Or 'I wonder who's going to kill?'

But little did I know, that one person's thoughts were a little bit different.
