Danganronpa: Despair to Prodigy's

Investigation #2

(Bell POV)

Again. It happened again. Another classmate of mine was dead, and all it took was a few words on a piece of paper.

Subaru had tears streaming out of his face, his face seemed vacant of expression.

'...I'll be helpful this time,'

Last time I was in too much of a shock to be of much help. I don't want to make the same mistake.

"Just as the Monokuma file says. She was bashed with an object on the back of the head over and over again,"

Shinobu gave the report and we all resolved ourselves.

Horikita inspected the body, which was soaking wet likely from being in the pool when she was first found.

The pool was stained red.

When the announcement came on I was in the cafe with Hestia and Noell and we ran there quickly. Issei, Rias, Shinobu, Isagi, and Subaru were all there when we arrived but I think Subaru found her first.

"If it was an object then maybe it was the weights in the weight room?" I asked

"Likely, Rias you check the girl's room and I'll check the boys," Rimuru said

Rias nodded as they went. The thing about the weight room as well as that you needed your e-handbook to open it.

I checked the body as did Kyoko and Horikita. I made sure to let them do most of the work though since I didn't feel too comfortable checking everything.

""Ah,""

Horikita and Kyoko said it both at the same time. 

"She's missing her E-handbook," Horikita said.

Normally everyone carried them on their person at all times, so this was odd.

Then both Rias and Rimuru came back.

"I have a missing weight in the girl's room. It was one of the 50-pound dumbells," 

"I'm missing two, one 50-pound one and another 10-pound one," Rimuru said in a distant voice like he was thinking as he was talking "Also, there was a bloody 50-pound weight on the floor,"

He then went quiet, no one spoke as he thought. Then after a minute, he spoke up.

"Never mind. Let's save deductions for the trail,"

"I'm gonna go check her room," Ayanokoji said

"...I'll go too,"

Surprisingly Subaru rose to his feet. His eyes seemed to have a certain resolve to them now.

"I'll find the murderer, and then, I'll have them executed,"

...Maybe it wasn't resolve, but a burning desire for revenge. At first, I thought about calling out to him to tell him to not go after it that way, but what if the one who had died was Hestia? Would I be able to not want the killer dead?

"...Sure," Ayanokoji agreed "You don't seem like you'll have her holding you back anymore,"

'Holding him back?'

"Of course, she was my first love. I even knew her before we came to this weird school. Her kindness rubbed off and I and I started to believe more often than thinking," He said in a sad reminiscent voice

"W-Wait is this what you really think she would want though?" I asked

"What she wants?" He walked up to me "She would want to be alive, that or to have us survive. And because of that, I will survive as well as make sure no one else dies in my own way," He then turned to face everyone "I'll show you all what the ultimate survivor really is,"
