We finished investigating the 3rd floor. It was now around noon. Ayanokoji had also come to join us again as we sat in the cafeteria.

I had just told him about the picture we had seen and wanted his input.

I was hoping for some new development coming from him but I guess not. I can't expect him to have all the answers though, I have to find some myself.
Then Monokuma appeared in the room.
"...Are you here to give us another motive or something?" Issei asked annoyed.
"Not this time! I came...To offer you all a prize!"

"I'm sure you all saw the chess board right? The winner will get a hint! Of course, though, only the winner can know. If you share it, then you will be punished,"
Everyone's face went serious.
"Here is the order! If you don't wish to play you are free to drop out,"
He then passed out the list that we all hovered around to look at.

"Oh? I'm an idiot?" Shinobu asked with a smile, but her tone definitely made it sound like she was about to kill him.
"Anyway, upstairs!"
We all headed to the third floor, where the first match went.
Subaru Vs Horikita.
It started off fairly close, but after a while the winner became obvious.
"Wow, I did not expect that," Noell said in genuine shock
"Subaru Is the winner!" Monokuma announced.
Horikita was wide-eyed as she looked at the board.
"Ok, Next!" Monokuma quickly pushed her out of her seat and reset the board.
Next up was Rimuru vs Noell.
And when I say it was a massacre it was a massacre. Rimuru completely destroyed Noell. Every move he played was all one elaborate trap.
"...I can beat grandmasters you know," Noell also said in shock "Anyway, nicely done,"
"Wahahaha! Bow down now if you fear the all-knowing Rimuru!"
Next was Rias vs Ayanokoji.
This was...Interesting. Ayanokoji seemed to be more relaxed than usual while playing, his expression obviously didn't change much, but the aura around him felt nicer.
