Everyone was completely silent. Ayanokoji slowly made his way to where he is supposed to stand, and when he did and I could see him up close, I realized something.
Something's off.
That look in his eyes, the demeanor in which he was moving, the way he still hadn't said anything yet. Something was seriously off, I just didn't know what.
"What?" Subaru was the first to speak, "You should be dead. Without a doubt. I planted that bomb on you."
'Bomb?'
Then I remembered that explosion, and everything slowly made sense. Shinobu was investigating the 5th floor, and if there was an explosive planted on the dead body, then when blown up you would be able to see which floor it was on if it were to be moved.
"I removed it," Shinobu said as she peeled herself off the floor, "I had a feeling that maybe Kyoko had done something when I wasn't looking, so I quickly checked the body on the 5th floor and placed the bomb somewhere else."
"That just doesn't make sense though!" Subaru yelled, "Why put it on your floor when you could have easily moved it?!"
"Because a second could not be wasted. So long as it was out of reach from harming Me or Ayanokoji it would be ok."
"Wait, let's back up a second." I said, "How is Ayanokoji even alive in the first place?"
Shinobu glanced at Ayanokoji to see his response, and he nodded.
"Very well, first the murder itself. When you guys saw Ayanokoji's body, I kept one thing a secret, and that was that I had taken his heart out."
"What?!" Most of us screamed upon hearing the shocking revelation.
"Afterwards, I quickly placed the dead body on the first floor. Then we inspected it. Once everyone had left, I doubled back and grabbed the body to bring it to the 5th floor. Afterward, I replaced the heart and tried my hardest to finish in time...But I couldn't. Halfway through the transplant, we had to go to the trial room. Ayanokoji was barely conscious since he said to not knock him out."
I was wowed, amazingly so, but there were a few things that still didn't make sense. But before I could get a word of it, Subaru spoke up
"So...Ayanokoji then finished the heart transplant on his own?"
"As impossible as it sounds, yes."
I looked back over at Ayanokoji, who still seemed a little off to me. He was still holding his chest, but he was mainly sneaking glances at Monokuma.
"Did he regain his memories then?" Subaru asked again, "That's the only way possible for him to be even possible of something like that. He would have to be the ultimate surgeon or something."
"As I had said, Ayanokoji said not to knock him out. He watched the whole process of me removing his heart until he died, and I was able to set him back up to the point where he knew what to do."
"Ayanokoji...You did get your memories back though, didn't you?" I asked him.
This naturally drew looks towards me, then to Ayanokoji.
This is what had felt to wrong to me. He was clearly hiding something, and now that it was mentioned, that seemed like the final piece of the puzzle.
He let out a sigh and opened his mouth. "That is correct. I have regained my memories."
"Then care to tell us what you are?" Subaru asked
"..." He looked back at Monokuma one more time before looking at all of us again, "I am the Ultimate Human. Ayanokoji Kiyotaka."
