It was time to face the person I was trying to ignore the entire day. It was time to face Lando.
I walked in our room after the race, he wasn't here yet. I could quickly grab my stuff and leave but that would be silly because we were going back to the same home.
We had to talk this out before seeing Luna.
Our rule of no arguing in front of her was still standing.
I packed my suitcase and sat down on the bed. He was taking a long time, was he trying to avoid me too?
I let myself fall on the bed as I was waiting for him. The bed smelled like him. The smell I used to call home, but it didn't feel like that anymore.
I was waiting for an hour as he finally walked in. I quickly sat up and looked at him.
I guess he didn't expect to see me here because he just looked at me, he didn't know what to say and if I was honest I didn't either.
Fuck, why didn't I prepare something to say.
He sighed as he sat down next to me. "I am sorry Skye, I didn't wanted to push you into something you didn't want" I knew him well enough to realize he was genuine about this.
"I know, but I don't think I will ever want another child. I love my job right now. We've been walking around each other for months, probably even years" I said as I looked down at my hands. I started fiddling with my fingers because I was nervous.
My heart was beating so fast, I felt like this was the end.
"What do you mean? Years? Yeah okay we weren't the best couple the last couple of months but years?" He titled his head a little.
"When was the last time you genuinely kissed me? I raised Luna by myself for years and now you want another child when I finally found my passion?" I looked up at him. He was biting the inside of his cheek. A sign that he was nervous or he was getting mad.
"When was the last time you genuinely kissed me Skye? I had a job to do, to make sure Luna and you have nothing to worry about" he started raising his voice a little. "And your passion? Really? Making Max World champion while I threw a championship away for you?" He chuckled as he got up.
There it was again, he would always use that against me when I never asked for it.
"Did I ever ask you to do that? No. Once again you fucking assumed I wanted that. Why can't you talk to me for once?" I got up as well. I needed to walk it off.
"Says you? You could've told me you didn't want another child instead of secretly going back on birth control" he shook his head as he was looking outside. "And where were you last night? Where did you sleep?" He turned around and looked at me.
"With Max" I quickly said. He laughed as he shook his head. "Fuck you're taking your job very serious" I couldn't believe he just said that.
I grabbed my suitcase and opened the door.
"Bye Lando. I assume you're gonna pick up Luna from your parents?" I turned around to see his answer. He was just nodding.
I walked outside and closed the door behind me.
It definitely was the end of us.
Once again I was stranded. I didn't realize how much I actually relied on Lando.
I wasn't planning on sitting next to him on a plane for several hours, we wouldn't survive that.
I grabbed my phone, Max had to safe me once again.

I was so grateful for him. I knew he actually didn't need to go to Milton Keynes but he did that for me.
He saved our relationship many times before but he wasn't gonna do that anymore.
