"How are you holding up?" Lexi asked as we were sitting outside a little restaurant. I don't know where she found it, but it was definitely cute. "I'm doing fine, a lot of work though" I didn't know if she already knew about Lando and I. "Okay but I meant after your breakup" Alright that answered my question, she already knew.
Word in the paddock travelled fast, I should've expected that. "It's not easy but we will get through it" I said even though I wasn't sure about that myself.
"How are you and Charles?" I changed the subject. I was tired of always having the same conversation about Lando and I. "Amazing. He's so sweet and soft. I couldn't wish for a better boyfriend" Her eyes sparkled. I could see she really liked him.
"I am happy for you" I quickly said. It was hard to see people be so in love while my heart was completely shattered.
"Anyways Charles told me something and I thought you should know" Okay were we already in the gossip stage? She looked around, as if she was making sure no one was listening. "Max likes you" as soon as she said those words, I started laughing. She tilted her head as she frowned. "Sorry Lexi but that is just insane. Okay he likes me as a friend but nothing more" I stopped laughing because I could see that she wasn't amused.
She grabbed her glass and looked at me. "Oh he definitely likes you more than just a friend" she smirked as she took a sip from her glass.
There was no reason for me to laugh anymore. He was always soft with me, but I always thought he saw me as a little sister.
He was always so supportive of our relationship, he even helped us getting back together by locking us in that stupid room and by inviting us to a vacation together.
Why would he do that if he liked me?
After lunch with Lexi, I rushed back to my room. I had to get ready for the sponsor thing with Max and the bosses. I didn't even know what kind of event it was. Was it fancy or casual?
I sat down in front of my suitcase and grabbed a dress. It would never hurt to wear a dress, even if it was just a casual event.
As I was getting ready I couldn't stop thinking about what Lexi told me. Did Max really like me? I was definitely gonna act as if I didn't know, I didn't want to make it awkward between us.
I was almost ready when I heard a knock on the door. Fuck he was early or was I late?
I grabbed my heels and jumped to the door, I quickly opened it while putting my heels on and looked up.
It wasn't Max, I was kneeling in front of Lando. I was looking up at Lando holding Luna. "Oh sorry I forgot to text you" I said as I got up. "I have a sponsor event, can you take care of her tonight please?" he looked at me before nodding. "Yeah sure" he stumbled a little over his words. He probably wasn't used to seeing me in a dress anymore.
"Thanks Lando and I'm sorry for the way I acted earlier" I said but he just shrugged it off. "It's okay. Don't worry about it. Have fun tonight" he said before turning around but I quickly grabbed his arm. His eyes lit up for a second but that quickly changed when he realized I wanted to say goodbye to Luna, even I could see the disappointment in his eyes.
I wondered how he felt about all this? Was he fine with it or did he cry as much as I did?
We never really talked about it, I wish he could tell me. I really wanted him to be fine but judging by the disappointment in his eyes, he wasn't fine at all.
