"So any exciting plans for tonight?" Max asked as we were walking through the paddock. He was on his way to the press conference and I decided to join for once. Not because I had to but because I wanted to take my mind of things.
"My sister arrived so I'm gonna drink tequila with her" I decided to leave out the part where Lando would be there too.
"Not too much tequila please, you have to work tomorrow" he said laughing. I wasn't planning on drinking too much, but for different reasons.
As I was sitting in the back of the press conference I remembered why I didn't come to these things anymore. They were so boring. Max was fiddling with his mic the entire time, he was probably just as bored as I was.
Our eyes met a couple of times, I was trying to make him laugh by making silly faces, which was definitely working, until I saw Carlos looking at the both of us, he raised his eyebrow a little.
Fuck, maybe this wasn't such a good idea, I didn't want him to tell Lando. I didn't want him to know about Max and I, not yet atleast.————————
"You guys rented a nice house" I laughed as we walked in. "We can treat ourselves too sometimes" she explained with a smile. They definitely deserved that. "Our guys are sitting outside already" she said but quickly corrected herself "I mean Lando and Max" I chuckled, I guess no one really got used to the fact that we broke up.
As soon as we walked outside, Luna ran to Lando. She was such a daddy girl. Lando picked her up and put her on his lap as he smiled at me. He was wearing a white shirt but his curls were covered by his backwards cap. He looked handsome, as always.
"Hi guys" I said as I sat down next to Lando. He leaned a little bit closer "You look cute" he whispered. I smiled as I looked down, fuck he was making me blush just like he did when we first met.
Fortunately Sophie broke the silence as she put the bottle of tequila in the center of the table. "So this is expensive tequila and we are gonna enjoy it" she looked almost proud, I had to drink some of it, just to make her happy.
She put a glass in front of everyone and poured it in. "Wow that's enough" Lando said as he put his hand above his glass "I have to drive tomorrow muppet" Sophie just rolled her eyes. I squinted my eyes as I drank the tequila. It was expensive and definitely very strong as well.
"I think she's trying to kill us" Lando whispered. "I think she brewed it herself" I said and we both started laughing.
It felt good to laugh with him again, it felt like old times again."Don't try and tell me you guys don't belong together" Sophie said. Lando and Max were playing with Luna in the garden. "We don't Sophie" I mumbled as I looked at them. Was I lying to myself? Maybe I needed to go on a date with someone, maybe that would get my mind of things, keep my mind of Lando.
"I see the way you look at each other, the way he looks at you. Why would you let someone like him go? I just don't understand it at all" she shook her head. No she clearly didn't understand it, which was fine. She didn't need to.
"Just drop it" I said as I grabbed the bottle of tequila and poured myself another shot. Maybe I was getting drunk after all.One shot turned into another shot and soon enough, I didn't even know how many shots I drank. Fortunately, Max and Sophie offered us to stay with them tonight. Luna was already asleep and it was only me, Lando and the bottle of tequila left. A dangerous combination.
"I think you've had enough" Lando chuckled as he pushed my glass away. I put my hand on his arm and looked at him. "Why are you so handsome?" I said, yes I definitely had too much to drink. He chuckled but he didn't answer. He just got up and grabbed my hand. "Let's take you to bed, you have a job to do tomorrow" he pulled me up and walked me to the bedroom.
"Can you come to bed with me?" I wrapped my arms around his neck and looked at him. He was biting the inside of his cheek. He probably wanted to say yes but he realized I was drunk as well so I needed to convince him. "Please, I need you" I kissed his neck a couple of times. I knew it was his weakness, I knew he couldn't deny that.
It was definitely selfish, I was pulling him back in when he was trying to get over it.
