Chapter Twenty

Ruby stood beside JJ as he fished, technically she was just enjoying the view of his arms but hey, he didn't need to know that.

She scrunched her nose in disgust as Kiara went to John B, but her attention span didn't last long before she went back at drooling over how hot JJ looked.

At some point the day took a turn for the worst, Sage had broken up with John B..

So here he laid on the pogue, still upset and right where she left him, so as Pope took the talking approach JJ and Ruby did the only thing they knew how.

Each walking out with two beers as a joint dangled from Ruby's lips, her tossing John B a beer and trying to cheer him up.

She leaned against the railing, smiling as John B did a backflip off the boat, she was glad he found at least a small amount of happiness.

So they drank and smoked and laughed until they all passed out- JJ and Ruby barely even awake as they were dragged to the Twinkie.

The two of them curled up and intertwined as they slept until Pope jammed on the breaks, purposely making them both go flying.

They both groaned as they entered the building, majorly hungover and not looking forward to school at all.

But the twins glared at Pope as the teacher mentioned a quiz- neither of them had been prepared for this at all.

All day she knew John B was thinking about Sage, so she decided to hold off on telling him about the engagement, hiding her hand under her desk so he wouldn't see the ring.

She held JJ's hand as they walked to history together, Mr. Sunn pulling the group aside and presenting Pope with Denmark's diary, making a special copy for him.

Ruby tuned out most of the conversation, too hungover to care at the moment and leaning into JJ, wanting nothing more than to sleep in his arms.

Finally after school Ruby was curled up with JJ on the couch on the porch, him absentmindedly playing with her hair as Pope read from the copy of the diary.

After a bunch of confusion somehow they ended up at the bonfire, Ruby had napped through the entire conversation/ plan but it was fine.

Ruby was in a corner with JJ, sipping a beer from a red solo cup as his arm went around her waist.

He lent down to her height and connected their lips in a kiss, the two quickly starting to get lost in each other, hands roaming as the kiss became more heated.

They were so caught up in each other they didn't notice that Sage and John B were playing a petty game, both trying to make each other jealous.

JJ picked up Ruby and held her against the stone wall as they grinded against each other, moaning against each others lips.

Her head tilted back as he trailed kisses down her neck, catching Topper and Sage walking together out of her peripheral and making their way over to where John B was talking to another girl.

She hit at JJ's shoulder, gently pulling him away from her neck and laughing at his whine.

" hate to ruin the moment but Frosted Flakes is in the area.." She said as he set her down, watching as he looked over to where she pointed.

He huffed and led her over- and that fast a fight broke out, Topper and John B going at it while Pope and John B tried to stop them.

The bitch John B was talking to shoved Sage to the ground, making Ruby grab her by the hair and punch her before helping Sage up, shoving people away from her as the crowd got bigger.

Eventually the fight stopped and the pogues returned to the Twinkie while Sage went with Topper.

Ruby sighed and leaned against JJ, what a night..
