I went up to the guests room with the bags and sat down on the floor.

Lizzie seemed like she needed some alone time.

I looked at my new phone and decided to download stuff I couldn't to my other one.

I also decided to search up Lizzie's name.

If I could remember her last name.

I think it was uh, Olsen?

I typed in her name and a shit ton of stuff came out.

When I say a ton I mean a ton.

She really is famous isn't she.

I basically consumed a shit ton of her content that night.

I was sitting in the living room with Lizzie eating some fruits she cut up. We were also watching a movie so it wasn't just pure silence.

The door bell suddenly rang so I paused the movie as Lizzie left to answer it.

I thought Lizzie had already answered but I was surprised when the bell rang again.

Then I heard my name. "Violet, go upstairs please. " she said and I yelled okay.

I took a last piece of apple and went upstairs.

I sat on the bed and started to look at my phone. I was curious on who came since I was sent upstairs but Im not one to ask.

I was just silently looking at some edits when I heard someone yell then Lizzie hushing the one who yelled.

I put my phone down and walked over to my door. All I could hear was mumbles now and even those were hard to hear.

Curiosity took the best of me and I left the room. As I got closer to the stairs their voices got louder and I could clearly hear them when I was midway through the stairs.

I sat on the steps and listened.

"Elizabeth your being unreasonable. " the voice said.

"Unreasonable? I'M BEING UNREASONABLE TO YOU!? "

"Yes, yes you are. "

It was silence for a moment when Lizzie spoke with her shakey voice once again.

"I... I lost her because of you. I'll always tell you the same exact thing. If you hadn't given her away and listened to me she would have been right here in this ever house. "

"You were young. "

"I wasn't that young. Stop acting like I was a teenager. "

"You were Lizzie, you were on 20. You were in university you weren't ready to take responsibility for a child. "

"If you felt so sad then you could have helped me. You could have helped me look after her not give her away. "

"I was ready to sacrifice everything for her... Yet, you took her from me. "

"You weren't before. "

"BUT I WAS THEN. I was ready when I saw her. I was when I heard her cry for the first time. When she looked at me with her big green eyes. I was ready to be her mother. "

"But yo-"

"Don't say that! " I've never heard Lizzie so sad and angry before...

I stood up and slowly went downstairs and looked into the living room.

I was Lizzie standing there with tears in her eyes and a blond woman standing in front of her.

Lizzie put her hand over her eyes and wiped her tears away before looking at the woman once again.

"Don't ever... And I mean ever come here again. The fact that you did is sickening already especially knowing the fact that it's the day after her birthday. You had the guts to come and barge in. No matter how many times you ask for my forgiveness I won't ever forgive you. Even if you somehow turn back time I won't. Because I will never forget the way you took her away. Never... "

I watched them stand there in silence until Lizzie took the ladies hand and was about to leave.

So I ran to the kitchen and peaked at the corridor.

I watched as Lizzie pushed the woman out and she sighed when she closed the door.

She looked down for a moment before she let out a sob.

She cumbled to the floor as she covered her mouth to silence herself.

As I looked at her I remembered my mom. The way she would run to my room at night after a beating from that man.

So I decided to do what I did to her. I slowly walked over to Lizzie and sat down next to her.

She opened her eyes and looked at me. I put my arms around her waist and hugged her.

She stayed silent but returned my hug together with another sob.

I always did this. It was a routine. A routine to hug my mom. Try and heal the scars in her heart. But it seems it never worked. No matter how many times I comforted her it would never heal the scars in her heart.

She was like a flower.

Beautiful but she withered and soon her petals fell until she had none left.

"I'm sorry if you heard all that... " she soon mumbled.

"Why be sorry? " I asked.

"You'll get her back one day Lizzie... Loved ones always reunite if not when your alive you will when you die. " I said as I lifted my head off her shoulder.

"I've seen alot of orphans alot of girls without parents and I can assure you they all live and are happy in their own way. So your daughter is happy. She's probably accepting late birthday gifts or wishes. Maybe even admiring new gifts she got and even if she's not let's imagine it that way.

Thinking about the bad things is never good... So let's think about the happy things while we can. "

She forced a smile.

"Are you happy Violet? " she asked me.

"I am... "

"Truly? "

"I truly am. " but we both knew that. That was a lie.

Nothing but a lie.
