A year after they married, the general returned to Earth and Quaritch took over. Well mostly. Selfridge was still there, but he usually let Quaritch handle most things. Although he was against his wife rejoining the avatar program, he had to admit that she was one of the better drivers. Also, they needed someone they could trust to report on the scientists. They were getting too chummy with the natives, starting to sympathize with their plight. Ten didn't appear to have the same issues.

For three and a half years Ten worked as security detail for the scientist avatar drivers. Everything was going to plan, the scientists had no idea she was reporting on them and feigning empathy for the people. She continued her specialized missions and everything seemed to be going fine.

She started spending more time at Grace's school, not just guarding but actively taking part in it. As time went on the Tsahik took notice of her and knew Eywa had a plan for her. She was guided to the Tree of Souls and communed with Eywa for the first time. Eywa showed her a vision of a child with red eyes growing up with the Omaticaya, becoming a warrior, and then surrounded by other avatars in military clothing. She had no clue what any of that meant, wasn't even aware that Eywa could show them things from the future.

Tenera thought about the vision for a long time before ultimately deciding it didn't make any sense. Paragons couldn't have children and with Quaritch leading the RDA on Pandora alongside Selfridge, there was no chance he would order them to make another. On top of that, Paragons didn't have childhoods, they were made at a certain age and they didn't really age past that.

She told Grace about the vision, not really having anyone else who would understand, but even she had no ideas to add. In the end, it didn't change anything. She continued doing as her husband directed, making detailed reports about the Omaticaya and giving that information freely to the RDA.

A few young Na'vi warriors taunted her about not having an Ikran. How can a 'warrior' be a warrior without a banshee? So, just as anyone could expect, she went and got one. An ash clan banshee. Red like her eyes, he chose her instantly. On his back flying through the landscape she felt free. She felt like this was where she was always meant to be and decided to bring him back to the compound to show off, she was done riding in Samsons.

Her entire team was dumbstruck when she called in a friendly banshee. Banshees were not friendly, but they waited outside curious. A screech pierced through the forest and a bright red and orange banshee, with black tipped wings landed within the walls of the compound. Ten jumped down and disconnected Tsaheylu gently. She motioned for them to get close enthusiastically and rolled her eyes when they refused.

"He's tame, just don't look in his eyes. They take that as a threat." Eventually Mansk stepped forward, he took off one of his gloves and the Ikran pressed into it. He let out a breath in disbelief as the damn thing nuzzled into him like a cat. "This is Waryn."

"You named your banshee, War?" She shrugged.

"Technically, it seems fitting. All things considered."

"What's it like?" Z-dawg asked as Ten ran her hands down his neck and he trilled happily.

"You become one. I can feel his heartbeat and breath as if it was my own. His strength and wings are mine. It's incredible." She gracefully remounted and connected Tsaheylu in one swift motion. They watched her pupils expand slightly and then return to normal.

"I don't have to command him to do anything verbally, it's all through the connection." She affectionately rubbed the back of his head as he craned his neck back towards her.

"Honestly thought most of this bonding stuff was bullshit until I actually did it. I definitely wont be gettin back in a fucking Samson." She took off rapidly into the sky, diving into the trees to find Ryn a proper place to roost.
