Quaritch tossed a pair of sunglasses over to Ten as they neared their banshees. She snatched them out of the air and then proceeded to give him a dirty look.
"I have an ionar. Also, red? Really?"
"Gotta stay on theme. Just wear the damn glasses. You'll be able to keep them on you instead of on Ryn." She scoffed at his smirk but put them on without further complaint.
The SeaDragon had just departed one of the two seaports connected to the monstrous city when the Recombinants took flight. The banshees squawked and shrieked as they soared about the vessel, waiting for it to stop moving before they attempted to land. At the sound of the engines winding down and the splash as the base came into contact with the water, they descended.
Quaritch, Lyle, Mansk, and Ten all landed on the bridge; humans peered through the windows as they dismounted. Spider hopped down onto the railing as Quaritch and Lyle vaulted onto the platform with heavy thuds.
"Hey." Spider waved at the two humans staring at them crazily.
"You Scoresby?" Quaritch asked, resting his hand on his pistol.
"Uh-huh, are you the asshole who's commandeering my ship?"
"That would be me." Lyle smirks at his response, while Cupcake screeches in approval.
"The target's pretty much this whole island group." The Colonel circled an area on the flat hologram. Spider ducked under his outstretched arms leaning against the console, causing Quaritch to look down with a smile before returning to a more serious expression.
"Never been up there." Scoresby replied, his arms crossed and head tilted in exasperation. The man was obviously pissed at his ship being commandeered. "You know those waters doc. What kinda indigenous we got?"
"Uh, Metkayina, mostly. Some Ta'unui. Maybe fifty villages."
"And you are, who?"
"Oh. Uh, I'm Ian Garvin." He holds out his hand. "Marine biologist." Quaritch ignores him and continues.
"Fifty villages. A hundred villages. I don't care. We'll search 'em all."
"I hunt tulkun." Scoresby leaned towards Quaritch. "That's what I'm rigged for. That's all my guys do. I've got quotas to meet."
"I'll be nice, once. Then I won't." At his dangerous grin, Scoresby's expression shifted into fear and he quickly changed his tune.
"Well, if you can't get out of it, get into it!" He perked up and walked away from the hologram. "All crews to stations!"
The SeaDragon's engines roared back to life and it continued its previous course, with a new mission in mind.

Mansk and Ten remained on top of the bridge while the Colonel dealt with the Captain. She kept staring back at the city they just left, but she wasn't really looking at it. More like looking through it.
Ten had to know why they were on this ship. Mansk could feel the uneasiness and concern. Both of which he understood, but he also wasn't prepared to have a conversation with her about it, at least not without Miles. Then again, he could sense her hesitation to broach the subject. He hated not being able to speak with her freely. They also needed to decide how and when to actually talk to her about her past. Putting it off wasn't going to help the situation.
