"Again I want to apologize for my cousin the other day. I should have known he would have done something like this." Jaime and I walk along the beach. "It's ok." "No it's not ok, he was going to drug you and take advantage of you." "Sorry." "Don't apologize mi amor I just want you to be careful." I laugh. "What does that even mean?" He smiles. "It's a special word for people like you." I grab his arm. "But what does it mean?" He chuckles. "I'm not telling." I pout. "Don't pout you will know one day." I walk over to the water and sit, he sits next to me, the water wash over our feet. "Why do you hang out with me? When you could be hanging out with someone else that doesn't have a breathing problem." A crab crawls past my foot. "You're not just someone with a breathing problem. You are my friend and more. I love hanging out with you." He rest his head on my lap and I play with his hair. "What time does your parents want you home?" "They are on a date tonight." He moans as I run my hand through his hair. "Let's go to your place, is your brother home?" "He's staying over at his friends house for the weekend." His scarab morphs into a suit as he picks me up in the process. "I know you don't like heights so, I won't fly too high. I nod trusting him. Keeping his words he stays low but moving fast in the process. I bury my face in his chest, his heart beat is calm unlike mine. Being this close to Jaime makes me feel funny and different. I hate being away from him and I get excited seeing him but, when I'm this close to him I feel fluttery on the inside. He set me down and I pull my key out. We go inside. "It's quiet." "Yeah, I love it, it's always quiet." We go into my room tripping in the process I fall on top of him on my bed. "You ok? We need to stop doing this." He jokes. I sit up in his lap his hands on my waist moving up my back, his grip tightens as he pulls me close. "Jaime." Our lips brush against each other my left hand run through his hair and my right hand under his shirt. "Blake." I tug at his hair once more and his hips move under me groaning in the process. I feel something poking me between my legs. I wiggle out his arms shying away. "Sorry I didn't..." he grabs my hand. "Blake calm down it's fine. I should be the one to apologize. I made you nervous and that stupid move I pulled was well... stupid." We're we about to kiss? Does he like me? No we're just friends and we kind of just met. How can I like someone that I just met? "Hey why don't we sit outside for a bit and watch the stars." I smile nodding.

We layout in the field looking at the sky. "How long will your parents be out on their date night?" I curl up next him. "Are you getting cold?" He wraps his arms around me. "Better?" I nod. "My parents will be out for a while since it's not often they have time alone." He hums. I hope dad didn't hear us, for Jaime sake. "We should do this more often, the stars are beautiful out here." I smile agreeing with him, I rest my head on his chest. I can hear his heart beat beating a little fast. "Jaime, are you ok, your heart is beating fast." He sits up his face turn red. "Everything is fine!" His scarab starts making weird little noises in which Jaime responded with a flustered face. "Enough, it's not like that!" He begin speaking in Spanish in a angry tone. "Jaime?" He stops and turns to me his face softens. "Mi amor, I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you. Come here." I crawl next to him and he wraps an arm around me pulling me close. "Warm?" I nod. "Yes." His hand goes to my waist. We continue our conversation as we gaze up at the stars, I rest my head on his shoulder. "How did you and the scarab become one?" He breathes. "Uhm... I found him in El Paso Texas, I took him home and while I was sleeping it attached to my spine." I scoot behind him and lift up his shirt. "Ah damn! Your hands are cold." He jumps from my touch. "I'm sorry." I run my hands up his back, my finger go up his spine and I touch the scarab. "It's pretty" he laughs. "Pretty? That's a first." I pull his shirt back down, I sit next to him and giggle. "Where is Jon?" I cross my legs and run my hand through his soft hair again. "He's with a friend." He rests his head in my lap. "You love playing with my hair, huh mi amor?" I blush nodding. "It's soft, I love how it feels between my fingers." He hums. "What you're doing feels good." I smile. "I'm glad you two are enjoying yourselves." Jaime quickly sits up. "Uncle Connor." He raise a brow at the both of us. "We weren't doing anything." Jaime summons his suit. "I should go, see you later, Blake."

Connor and I go inside, I sit at the kitchen table eating strawberries. "Connor, why did you have to scare him off like that?" He kiss my forehead. "You we're by yourself, at least I thought you were. I needed to check in on you. You and Jaime seem to be getting close." I blush. He sits down. "Jaime is a good kid, but, he's still a boy. I don't want to see you hurt is all." The door opens to my parents talking and laughing as they come through door. "Hey Connor what brings you here?" Connor gets up patting my head. "Just came by to keep her company for a while." I get up. "Dad, when can I start dating?" My parents look at each other, my mom smiles at him patting his chest. "I told you this day will come." She walks off giggling to herself. "Well... you're in high school now I guess you can." I smile. "Under me, Connor, your brother, or your mothers supervision." I frown. "How come? Jonathan gets to date without any of your supervision." He rubs the back of his head. "It's different..." I cut in. "Because I'm a girl!" "Ye-no! No, that is not it. Your brother is almost 18, we used to supervise his dates until recently. Look, you can start dating under one of our supervision. No boys in your room, only in the living room, if you go on a date one of us will supervise and you have to be home by 8." I sigh nodding. "Ok." He pats my head. "You should get some rest." I go up to my room and change into pjs. I honestly think my dad is doing this because I'm a girl too.
