"Come on Blake you can do it!" Today my family and I are at the fair having some fun. I toss the ring and miss. I throw a few more and only three went on the bottle. "Better luck next time." He hands me a small keychain, I really wanted that giant penguin. "Let me try." Jon pays the man and grab the rings. I watch him toss the rings on each bottle. Mom and dad walked off, I guess they decided to have a little alone time. "Jon!" Jon hands me the giant penguin as Allison walked up to us. "What do you want Allison?" She looks at me and roll her eyes. "I wanted to apologize for the whole inhaler incident. It was a terrible prank, I'm glad your sister is ok." I hug my penguin close. Allison looks at me with a devious grin on her face. "Did you win your little sister that?" Jon nods. "That is so sweet of you Jon. No hard feelings, ok?" She holds out her hand to me but I don't take it. I know she's lying through her teeth, she's nothing but a snake. "Thanks for the apology Allison, Blake and I should go we have more games to win and rides to ride. Right Blake?" I slowly nod my head. My eyes light up when I see Jaime walking with Virgil. "What are you two doing here?" Jon high five them. I rush over to Jaime and hug his arm. "Hey mi amor. Gar wanted to get out the tower, but I have a feeling he wanted me to meet up with Blake. Did he know about your family coming to the fair?" Jon nods. "He said he was bored and wanted to know what we were up too." Jaime chuckles shaking his head speaking to himself in Spanish. "What do the two of plan on doing next?" I point at the teacups. "Ok, we can do that." We get in line for the teacups. Jaime stuffs his hands in his pockets humming to himself. I hug his arm tighter shivering. He looks down at me, he pulls his hand out his pocket and pull his arm out my grip to wrap his arm around me. "Cold?" I wrap my arms around him enjoying the warmth. "Are you sure you two aren't a couple?" Jon jokes. I hide my blushing face in Jaime's side. "Come on Jon we're just friends, besides if I dated your sister you would be watching us like a hawk or killing me." Jon pats his shoulder smiling. "Yup." The gate opens allowing us on the ride. Jaime helps me in the teacup before getting in himself. Jon sits on my right and Jaime sits on my left. "If I'm being honest, I would be relieved if she does choose you as her partner." I blush at the word and look up at Jaime who is looking down at me. His cheeks are slightly pink, he smiles at me and I smile back. The ride begins, I couldn't hold back the laughter as the ride moved a little faster. My brother and Jaime keep losing their balance, I lean against Jaime to keep my balance.
After the riding a few rides we get in line for ice cream. "Where is your parents anyway?" I take my cookie dough ice cream from the man. "They're around somewhere." I scoop a spoon full of ice cream and hold it up to Jaime's mouth. I watch happily as he takes it in his mouth, I watch him scoop his mint chocolate chip and hold it to my mouth. I take it in my mouth blushing madly, would we make a great couple? "What do you think mi amor?" I smile. "It's good, I should of went for that flavor instead. Jon? What's wrong?" He finishes his ice cream quickly. "I will be back, I'm going to help dad. Jaime stay with Blake." Jaime nods. "I guess it's just me and you now, I nod my head smiling. We walk through the fair and we head to the dock. We sit our feet dangling off the dock. "Your ice cream is good too." I scoot closer to him and rest my head on his shoulder. Jaime and I have never been alone like this before, this is nice. "Mi amor." I look up at him. "Are we... never mind forget it, have you made any friends at your school yet?" What was he going to ask me? "No not really, I'm a freak at that school no one will talk to me and if they do it's to pick on me. Except for the football team they're really nice to me." He gives me an odd look. "The football team? Why the football team? That's a lot of guys." I laugh. "Because my brother is on the football team. Jaime, I'm not dating the whole football team. They're just nice that's it." He nudges me. "I know, I was just surprised is all." I tilt my head. "Surprised?" He nods. "Yea, you have the whole football team taking care of you because you're the sister of the star quarterback. You're cute Blake, I'm pretty sure the boys are trying to get you as well and if they're not that's the surprising part." He thinks I'm cute! We continue to sit at the dock and talk, just me and him with no interruptions of some kind. We finished our ice creams already now our hands are empty. I'm sitting really close to him, our legs are practically touching. "Jaime, what were you going to say?before the football conversation." He doesn't look at me, he continues to look out at the ocean. "It's nothing, it's not important right now. It will change everything if I say it and I don't want it to change just yet." I nod. "Ok, when will it be the right time?" I look off into the distance. "I don't know that's the problem, I want to keep this friendship going, but how long will it last until it breaks? Until I say the words I want to say to you?" I take his hand. "Then don't, just show me." He intertwines his hand with mine. "Oh mi amor you have no idea how much I want too." An explosion can be heard from a distance and Jaime gets up. "I should go check it out." I watch his suit form. "Wait." I kiss his cheek. "Be careful." He nods and flies off. "Blake, there you are." Mom hugs me. "We need to get home and wait for your brother and dad to be done with whatever that thing is that they are fighting."
We wait at home I pace around the living room panicking. Is Jon and dad ok? Is Jaime ok? Did they defeat it? What's taking them so long? Mom grabs my shoulders. "Blake, breath everything will be ok, our boys will come back home to us." The door is shoved open by Garfield and Virgil. "Get him on the couch, hurry!" Jon lays Jaime on the couch. His suit is gone.
