Instinct

The game is going well, Jon and Jaime left to get us snacks. I cheer with the crowd happily as our team scored. "Candy my lady." Jaime hands me the bag of skittles. "Thanks." He kiss my cheek. "No problem mi amor. Let's go!" Jaime yells excitedly getting the crowd pumped up as well. I sit down my feet getting tired from standing. Jaime sits next to me resting his hand on my thigh. "Are you enjoying yourself?" I feed him a skittle. "I'm having a lot of fun!" I jump up cheering when my skin began to glow and the lights go out. Tiny dots and markings on my skin illuminated in the dark. "Shit!" Jaime shoves his jacket off and cover me and grabs my tail. The lights finally come back on and the game starts up again. Jon takes my hand but my hand shocks him in the process. and drag me out the crowd with Jaime following behind. "We will be back Selene." I whimper when Jaime holds tighter to keep my tail still. We go into the family bathroom and Jaime locks the door. "Alright baby- ow! God damn! You shocked me." My ears go back. "I'm sorry I can't control what's happening to me!" I touch the sink and it explodes! "Ok no more touching things not even us well... I can handle it." My ears go back as I panic. "Make it stop! Ah!" Electricity convulses turning the lights out. "Mi amor calm down, remember what Doctor Fate said? In the height of excitement or overstimulated with emotion your power can go haywire. Breathe and relax, don't panic. Come here." I shake my head. "Would if I electrocute you?" He smile gently. "I will be ok." He touches each side of my face ignoring the pain. He slowly engulfs me in a hug, I can hear him grunting from the shocks. "Let go!" "No, I'm not letting you go." I bury my face in chest enjoying his comfort. "There you go baby." He says in pain. My tail goes away and I start looking normal again. "I did it! Jaime?" He falls backwards. "Ouch." He groans.

At the end of the game the opposite team won. "Where did the three of you go?" Selene asks. "Oh uhm... Blake needed to use the restroom she didn't want to be alone." Selene hums. "I could have went with her." I feel bad, I hate having to lie to her, my friend. "It sucks that our team lost the game." Jon changes the subject quickly. "Yeah but at least we had fun and that Blake enjoyed herself a lot. What's next?" Joke starts the car and drive. "We are going to Gotham to meet up with Damien and our other cousins. We are going to have a paintball fight and hopefully this time it doesn't get too intense like last time." Selene laughs. "How intense?" All three of us look at each other. "Uhm..." all of us say at the same time.

I hide behind a tree thankfully I can see in the dark downside my eyes glow in the night and I don't want Selene questioning it. My ears twitch at the sound of a twig. I quickly get from behind the tree pointing my gun. "Wait it's me, it's me!" I point my gun down. Selene sighs. "I see why Jon said this game is intense, your cousins are insane! Wait, are you glowing?" The small dots on my skin glows along with the marks. It's not too bight but it's not faint either. My ears perk and I push Selene out the way, five paintballs hit the tree. "Woah! That was a close one." I quickly turn around and shoot. Dick falls out the tree. "Dammit!" He picks his gun up again and shoots. I dodge every paintball, I jump in the air dodging Damien. Their paintballs hit each other, I giggle grabbing Selene hand and run. "Wow seems like you take this game seriously as well." I stop behind a bush and sniff the air, I can smell them, I can smell everyone and I can hear everything! "Blake, are you ok? You look tense and focused." I look at her my red eyes glowing immensely as I growl. My tail swish around wildly as I crawl towards her drooling from the mouth. "Blake this isn't funny! Blake!" I'm knocked up against the tree by non other than Jaime in his blue beetle suit. I growl snapping at him. "Hold her still, Selene get back to the mansion, now!" I can't control what's happening what I'm doing feels natural it feels good like I am free! My instincts are telling me to hunt. Jon was in his suit grabbing me by the neck to pull me away. "Blake snap out of it. Selene go! I feel throat began to burn. "Guys move!" Flames escape my mouth. I feel multiple pricks on my body and I black out.

I wake up in the cave and see everyone including Selene watching me. The boys look scratched and cut up I can barely remember what had happened. Dad clears his throat. "Do you remember what happened?" I shake my head. Selene speaks, her tone was rough. "You tried to eat me." My ears go back. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I don't know this happened." I tear up. Jaime rush over to me grabbing my hands. "It's ok we know you didn't do it on purpose." He kiss my nose and press his forehead against mine. "I know how it happened." Uncle Bruce states. "Now that we unleashed her dragon her instincts as a dragon are coming in and taking over. Her powers are awakening." Uncle Bruce holds up a necklace with a red gem hanging from it. "This is demon blood curtesy of Etrigan. Demon is a dragons weakness. It takes away your power and your form." Dad nods. "It's like your very own kryptonite except it won't kill you." Uncle Bruce put it around my neck and I can feel shift and power dissipate. I stumble a bit grabs my arm to keep me balanced. "Mi amor?" "I'm ok." After talking for a bit I walk over to Selene and apologize multiple times for trying to eat and thankfully she forgave me.
