Ch9: The History Professor

  July is a summer month. Students from numerous educational institutions are currently on summer break. It wasn't just the youngsters; several educators were involved as well.

When the summer season began this year, Night Raven College's professors opted to return to their home countries. Their crow headmaster's appeals were insufficient to persuade them to return from their own homes.

One of those professors was a tall elderly man with little grey eyes and greying well combed-back hair. Professor Mozus Trein of Night Raven College. A professor who teaches social studies courses such as the history of Magic.

The Night Raven College is a famous four-year arcane institution that welcomes magically gifted students. Night Raven College, located on the Isle of Sages in the Land of Dawning, is an arcane college where students' magical aptitude is examined by a magic mirror and they are classified into seven separate houses inspired by the great seven.

The Heartslabyul was named after the Queen of Hearts.

Pomefiore, named after the most beautiful queen

Ignihyde was named after the King of the Underworld.

Finally, Diasomnia is based on the thorn fairy.

Mozus Trein, a Night Raven College history professor, returned to his home country shaft lands when the summer vacation started.

The pyroxene land (shaftlands) was separated into two major sections. Northern and Southern areas.

These two primary regions were subsequently subdivided into smaller regions. Mozus Trein dwells in the Shaftlands' northern section.

The northern region was divided into 12 sections. Mozus Trein resides in the Trois Region in the Northern Land of Shaftlands.

He has been back at home for two weeks. A chateau - Mozus Trein was relaxing in the lounge with his kids and cuddling his cat Lucius when they saw the news on television.

{ The once-famous winter wonderland of Ledusberg... }

The town of Ledusberg. It began to be tortured by the never-ending winter season eight years ago. Located in the Neuf area. Mozus Trein was one of the mages who volunteered his assistance to the town of Ledusberg 8 years ago, despite the mayor of the town being stingy and granting no recompense to the mages who offered their assistance out of charity.

The mayor's stinginess was also one of the reasons why many Ledusberg residents left their beloved town. He wouldn't even make the necessary efforts to assist the folks that fell under his jurisdiction.

Mozus Trein was 50 years old eight years ago. He was an expert mage, yet he couldn't solve the town of Ledusberg's predicament. Despite his many failures throughout his life, one of his major regrets was not being able to assist the town of Ledusberg.

He did not provide his assistance 8 years ago out of the kindness of his heart. It just so happened that his deceased first wife was from the town of Ledusberg.

While he and his children were listening to the news of Ledusberg, Mozus Trein began stroking his cat's fur, much to Lucius' chagrin.

Lucius' extra fur was taken from his body towards the end of the news. He hopped off Mozus' lap and scurried away from the lounge.

Mozus' daughters, on the other hand, were irritated by what they discovered in the news.

"How inept is Neuf's Magic Police Division?"

" The current mayor of Ledusberg is furious with them."

" (Sigh) They never seem to change. "

One of his daughters then inquired as his daughters were expressing their opinions.

" What do you think, Father? "

Mozus Trein responded after a brief thought.

" The Neuf Region's Magic Police Division is inept, accusing a town guest when they lack sufficient proof and evidence to back up their claims. "

" You're right, father. "

" The current head of the Neuf Magic Police Division should be removed."

While his daughters continued their conversation and new news was being broadcast on television, Mozus Trein's thoughts returned to the Ledusberg community.

The Neuf Magic Police Division accused Miss Katerina Eisenovak's guest of kidnapping her. It was absurd.

According to Ashray Whitley, the owner of the house where Christian Hans Andersen is staying, the blue-haired dwarf guest hasn't left or stepped outside of Ashray's home since he was discovered and saved by Miss Katerina on the verge of hypothermia.

The Neuf Magic Police suspected that the blue-haired dwarf had used his Unique Magic to abduct Katerina, who was currently missing. The news clip finished with the Neuf Magic Police detaining the blue-haired dwarf, much to the chagrin of Ashray and the young mayor. The latter seemed to be regretting her involvement with the Neuf Magic Police.

The following incidents were reported the following day on the news station that Mozus Trein often monitors. They then played a video that was posted by one of the residents of Ledusberg in Magicam.

The blue-haired dwarf visitor was seen sprinting barefoot on the snow-covered town while being pursued by Neuf Magic Police in a loose white shirt and black pants.

While the blue-haired half-dwarf was fleeing the inept cops, a black feather pen quill and a hefty book materialized in front of him.

He came to a halt in his rush, seized the black feather pen quill inlaid with blue gem mage stone, and began writing in front of the book that appeared out of nowhere.

Mozus Trein recognized the runes that the blue-haired half-dwarf had written using his understanding of Runes.

The book then shone after writing the four runes one by one, followed by each other, and conjoined.

Four white horses pulling a white sled stood in front of the wrongfully accused felon.  The mage climbed inside the sled. The horses then began galloping, increasing the distance between the wizard and the chasers, who resorted to casting a slew of fire spells until they ran out of mana.

The video then finished, arousing Mozus Trein's curiosity.

The wrongfully accused mage has demonstrated an extensive understanding of runes and summoning. Mozus Trein thought he had identified a candidate for the currently vacant job of professor at Night Raven College by connecting those two subjects and having the interconnected runes show that kind of effect.

Mozus Trein took out his rarely used cell phone and sent a message to Dire Crowley, the headmaster of Night Raven College.
