Before to start: A huge thank you to @Adshajira for this amazing cover!

"Is she really gone?" Hector asked.

"I'm afraid so, sadly." Luna Aurora confirmed.

"Does he know yet?" Hector asked her. She knew very well what he was talking about that's why he didn't bother to specify who HE was.

She shook her head: "No, we don't know how to tell him. He'll be so disappointed he'll be heartbroken!"

"We have to find her! She can't be left alone!" Danika declared.

"They've been here for barely 10 days and the danger has already caught up with them. They're not safe here anymore." Hector shot back.

"But she is so young!" Danika objected.

Their discussion was interrupted by the arrival of three wolves.

"Well?" Hector asked. Luna Aurora shook her head.

"Fuck!" He mumbled, as the three of them went behind a tree to regain their human form and change into some of the clothes Luna Aurora had brought with her.

"She masked her footprints and scent. Her trail stopped at the edge of our territory" Gamma Logan explained, stepping out from behind his tree as he finished putting on his shirt.

"That's impressive for a kid her age." Alpha Owen added.

"What are we going to do? We can't just leave her without doing anything!" pleaded Danika.

"We have to act fast! Every minute that passes decreases our chances of finding her!" Gamma Logan agreed.

"You're forgetting who her parents were! I think it's already too late." Beta Arya said to her mate.

"Absolutely! Besides, she's not the only one we need to protect!" Hector was in agreement with Beta Arya..

"Val and Eliza have never let us down. They supported us in every decision we made and they were there for every struggle we went through! We owe it to them to help their daughter at any cost!" Danika argued.

"I know... I still can't believe they both left us." Gamma Logan commented with emotion in his throat.

Danika squeezed his hand. Val was her best friend, her grief too was immense. Under other circumstances, Beta Arya would have been annoyed by their closeness, but she knew how much Eliza and Val had meant to them during their college years. She herself had grown very fond of the couple when she had met them through Logan.

"In that case, we should follow the last wishes." Hector stated.

"We can't!" Danika refused.

"How can you even think about it!?" Gamma Logan surged, offended.

"Don't talk to me like you're the only ones who lost them! Eliza was originally just your best friend's little sister! I just lost my baby sister! You're forgetting the price that it's going to cost me! The sacrifice I'm going to have to make!" Hector snarled.

"And you want to leave your niece to fend for herself so young!" Gamma Logan retorted, not backing down.

"She and her brothers are the only family I have left on my side! My sister was very smart and her mate even more! They sent us their kids with specific instructions. This is a subject they took the time to turn over in every direction and they sacrificed everything, including their lives, for its success. We owe it to them to respect their last wishes." Hector shouted.

"That sounds so cruel! Besides, how can you be sure that he really had time to think about it?" Danika demanded of him.

"Don't insult their intelligence!" Hector warned her.

"At the same time, they thought that no Alpha would accept their daughter knowing what she is. But that's not the case." Alpha Owen commented.

"Do you even realize what it means for the world to know what she is? Are you ready for the consequences on your pack? On this haven of peace that is Hallhunt, despite the conjuncture of so many territories? How many enemies will you make?" Hector asked him.

"No, I'm not. But do you really think that a few years is going to change the mindset! It's just a matter of taking a step back to make a leap forward." Alpha Owen reasoned.

"Besides, our son has become very attached to her. He could help her." Luna Aurora added.

"And become a target, like everyone else who is close to her. Are you willing to sacrifice your son for her? Because we all know he would do anything for her and they have only known each other for 10 days!" Hector claimed.

"He's right." Levi intervened. No one had heard him approach too caught up in their heated discussion.

"What are you doing here?" His mother inquired.

"I don't know. I woke up with a start and immediately understood..." Levi said in a sorrowful voice.

"You know that you will also be infected by the spell. You will completely forget her existence, your memories together..." His father questioned him.

"I know but we will find each other. I can feel it." Levi replied.

Alpha Owen was surprised at the maturity his son was showing. He had taken this 10 year old girl under his wings and at the age of 14 was showing great maturity.

"We've talked a lot and I understand her reasons. I don't agree with all of them but I do respect them. She made me promise yesterday to respect her parents' wishes. I promised her on my own heart that I would. We have to forget about her for now because the world is not ready for her yet." Levi explained to them.

"But will the world ever be ready for her?" Danika muttered.

"I don't know. But it's up to us to make sure it is." Levi replied.

"I don't know how we'll do it if we don't remember." Gamma Logan sighed.

Lorena, Hector's mate and a witch, appeared beside him.

"Did you convince them? Shall we do it?" She asked him.

"One last question: Where are the boys going?" Danika asked.

"In my family, one of my distant cousins is going to adopt them. Hector and I wanted to but it's too risky. It might leave a trail or revive memories too soon." Lorena explained.

Hector had been heartbroken by the decision but at least they would see him occasionally. Anything was good to take.

"And when will that be the right time?" Beta Arya inquired.

"When the truth is revealed." Lorena replied.

The answer sounded very vague.

"I've never done a spell that powerful and I don't know exactly what the consequences and side effects will be." Lorena warned them.

"It's not like we have a choice..." Hector muttered.

"Let's do it before I change my mind." Danika said reluctantly.

And the spell worked better than they had imagined as they lost all their memories with Eliza and Val. It was as if they had never met, like they never have been family...
