Nova was curious to meet the one who would become her sister-in-law. She had no doubt that they would get along very well and had been waiting for this moment since she was mated with Lucas. That's why she decided to go to the Den of Desires by herself since Lucas was not allowed to go there. She quickly ran into Faith who said she was surprised not to have seen her earlier and directed her to one of the stages where Doll Face was going to do the next dance. Nova paid for a private dance, she wanted some time alone with her sister-in-law.

Avery was used to dancing for women, it happened from time to time. She found it refreshing. She was surprised when after the first dance, Nova stopped her, informing her that she wanted to talk.

"You'll have to teach me to dance like that. I can already see us making our mates crazy with desire. "Nova proclaimed to her.

"Who are you?" Avery asked her warily.

"Nova, Lucas' mate. Your mate's twin brother. You are the sister I've been waiting for for years. It's a pleasure to finally meet you."

"Landon is a jerk!" Avery muttered.

"Normally not, but this time he was. Apparently meeting you made his brain go haywire because he's not the type to react the way he did. He's been miserable since the first time he met you and when he screwed up already."

"He's not miserable enough to come here and see me again." Avery mumbled.

"He's blacklisted. He's not allowed to set foot in here again. At least not until he behaves better with Caleb. If it weren't for that, believe me, he'd be here every night."

"Too bad for him!" Avery shrugged.

Nova looked at her intently, "It's just an excuse to keep your distance, isn't it? You're afraid of something, but of what?"

"What are you?" Avery was wary.

"A she-wolf but also an oracle."

"Well Oracle your time is up, enjoy your evening." Avery said as she stood up. Relieved that she didn't have to go deeper into the subject with Nova.

Faith intercepted Nova before she left the club, "I didn't have time to thank you for saving me and the stuff in my trunk."

"Don't mention it. It's just normal. Everyone else would have done the same."

"No, the proof is you were the only one who stepped in. You have quite a shield, by the way. Really impressive."

"Yeah, I finally got to find it out." Nova smiled.

"I can't believe this was your first time. Imagine your abilities if you practiced!" Faith commented, stars in her eyes.

"That would be wonderful!" Nova agreed.

"Maybe you can get the witches from Velho to help you?"

"Why not? That's a great idea. I'll talk it over with Lucas."

"Did it go well with Doll Face?" Faith asked, changing the subject.

"You don't want to give me his first name at least? I'd like to know it. It's annoying to call my future sister Doll Face." Nova whined.

"Nah. Sorry it's not my place to tell you." Faith replied with an amused smile.

"I'll get to know it eventually!" Nova grinned.

"Did you manage to convince her to meet Landon? It took me weeks to convince her and he screwed it up with his stupid remark. "Faith wondered.

"I know. He's still kicking himself. Honestly, he can't forgive himself. The fact that he can't come here to see her is driving him crazy."

"What do you mean he can't come? Do you want me to talk to the bosses about it?" Faith suggested.

"No, Doll Face would take it pretty badly I think and she'd probably resent you for it. She's not ready and she's scared. Push her to open up about her fears rather than trying to convince her to give him another shot. As long as she doesn't fight her fears, she'll find excuses. And as it goes, Landon will give her plenty of good reasons. No, he's going to have to be patient if he wants to win her over later. And so will I before I make her my sister."

"Maybe you could start by making a friend out of her then."

"Yes I hope so.... If I haven't scared her off too much already. But knowing her name would be a good start." Nora replied.

"Ah ah, nice try!" Faith chuckled.

"It was worth a try." Nova shrugged.

"Fallen Angel, you have a request for a private dance in the silver room." A waitress called out to Faith.

"Fallen Angel... Why did you choose that stage name?"

"I didn't choose it, it was given to me by the bosses. It suits me, don't you think?" Faith explains, a smug smile on her lips.

"Hmmm... Indeed..." Nova mumbled as she watched Faith walk away.

A lot had happened in the last few months and the academic year would soon come to an end. It was hard for Faith to think that in less than a month she would have finished her first year. She had convinced several girls and boys in the club, including Avery, to go back to school. They had started a study group to help them get a GED so they could go to college. Caleb had told her a few weeks earlier that he was transferring to Velho University and would be their new quarterback, playing on the same team as his mate.

With his support, she had negotiated places in the university of Velho with the Dean. The negotiation had been tough, but Faith had built her argument on giving a chance to people who hadn't had one. The Dean had been touched by this idea and had finally given in. Moreover there was something about her, somehow you couldn't say no to her.Even joking about the fact that Velho was going to have the most controversial cheerleading squad in the country. Faith liked the idea and shared it with the 6 dancers who wanted to join Velho next year and promised to apply together. Next year was already full of promises.

One night at the end of May when the weather was warming up, Faith, on her way home, was stopped by blue lights and smoke. As she ran, she saw that the building where she lived was in flames. Her first thought was for Avery who was not working tonight. Avery had seen her run up and she had jumped into her arms.

"Are you okay?" Faith worried, watching Avery from head to toe.

" Yeah... Everybody is safe. And I had time to get all our stuff out. Good thing we don't have much stuff, you and I." Avery answered.

"The important thing is that no one got hurt. Do we know what happened?" Faith asked.

"Earl forgot to turn off his stove, again... By the time he realized it, it was already too late and his kitchen corner was already on fire." Avery explained.

"I thought it was because you were hot as hell!" Simon, a club regular who was also a fireman, said behind their backs.

"That we are." Faith replied with a smile.

"Do you know where to sleep tonight?" He asked them.

Avery and Faith exchanged a look. There was no way they were going to trade a bed for a dance. They had finished their day. As nice as Simon was, they both knew that nothing was ever free.

"Don't worry, we'll figure it out." Avery replied.

Before Simon could say anything else, Caleb rushed to the girls. Once he was reassured that they were safe, he offered them his apartment as he stayed in Aaron's, which Avery quickly accepted before Faith could refuse.

"How did the fire start?" He inquired once they were in the car.

The girls exchanged an amused look before answering in sync, "Too much hotness!"

"What?!" Caleb confusedly asked, to which the girls burst out laughing.
