"What the hell was that? What is it between Faith and Caleb? Vampires can project themselves into the minds of those who have drunk their blood but as far as I know, not the other way around and clearly she was the one projecting." Alpha Owen asked, once Avery and Faith had left the office.

"He's a hybrid... He has abilities greater than ours." Danika explained, even though she too was stunned by what had happened herself. Obviously the relationship her son shared with Faith, intrigued her as well.

"Are you sure there's nothing more?" Alpha Owen insisted.

"They live together and are very close. Seeing them together is like watching siblings interact. They behave, bicker and protect each other as such. Their bond is most definitely deep. They have created the family for themselves that they didn't have." Nova commented.

Realizing what she had just said, Nova blushed.

"That's not what I meant! Caleb has a loving family of course!" She apologetically said.

Danika smiled gently at her, "You're right. Caleb has a loving but incomplete family. On both sides, he never felt fully accepted and he was looking for a united family, which he finally found."

She added as she looked at Beta Arya, "I know you're doing your best Arya but we both know your boys aren't being easy on him."

Arya was ready to defend her twins but was cut off by Landon, "She's right Ma. We put him through hell. And we still would if he was still at The Barsch Academy."

"Yes, but that's my fault. I'm sorry that you and he are paying for the consequences of my actions, my guilt." Beta Arya replied to him through their mind link.

Feeling her guilt through the link, Gamma Logan moved closer to her mate to hug her.

"Stop punishing yourself, my love. I forgave you so long ago. Now it's your turn to forgive yourself. It's time for you to move on." Gamma Logan murmured in her ear. He spoke so low that no one but her could hear him.

"I know... I'm working on it." She replied, kissing him on the cheek.

"You should go, Landon. You need to stay close to your mate." Gamma Logan added as he looked at his son, his mate still in his arms.

"I don't think I could get near her house..." Landon sighed. His mood low, still clouded by everything that had happened, everything he had just learned.

"I can try to negotiate. I'd rather stay there than at the frat house anyway. When I close my eyes I can still see her..." Nova said to him, shivering in horror at the last sentence.

"Baby, I need you. I'm in the same state as you. If you want we can go to our room at the pack house instead." Lucas offered.

"Okay... But I'd like to check on Avery first and see if I can convince them to let Landon in." Nova granted.

"Okay but you're not leaving my side." Lucas stated.

"You're not making this easy for me..." Nova mumbled.

"I can also put your cute little ass over my shoulder and take you home..." Lucas fired back, the excitement of the challenge visible in his eyes.

"Your parents are here!" Nova protested, blushing.

"And you think that will stop me?" Lucas retorted, with a smirk.

She sighed, "Fine! Let's go."

After greeting everyone, Nova, Lucas and Landon had set off in complete silence. Landon was lost in his thoughts and sank under his guilt. Nova was also angry with herself for not having been more attentive, she should have followed her instinct! As for Lucas, he was worried about his brother and wondered how he would find the peace and happiness he wished for him. But the road would be longer than they had imagined.
