Over the next 3 months, Nevaeh and Brody crossed paths no less than 5 times! Coincidence or destiny, they had no idea, but each time he had been unable to resist and always ended up sharing a room for several days. Nevaeh had been horrified to learn that Levi hadn't accepted her rejection and so had felt everything, every time. So she contacted him to explain that he had to let her go and move on. She was furious when she realized that he was punishing himself after all he'd put her through. She ended up asking her Aunt Lorena to help her block the link between him and her. She also wanted to feel free and not feel guilty about Levi.

During a stopover in the Black Rocks National Park, Nevaeh came across a lost little boy. Ian was six years old and had wandered off into the woods playing hide-and-seek with his friends. Despite his young age, he was still very brave, even though it had been three years since he had lost his way. Making the connection with a missing child she'd read about that very morning, she realized that the boy was the son of the Betas of the Flowery Plains pack. They were 30 miles from the border of the pack's territory, much to Nevaeh's surprise. Ian had been very wary of her but had eventually accepted a bottle of water and a sandwich. It had been even harder to convince him to let her call his parents to warn them. The poor boy was so scared of being punished that it took Nevaeh a lot of patience to convince him that his parents wouldn't be angry with him.

After talking to Beta Amira and a lot of crying, they agreed that Nevaeh and Ian would wait for them at the hotel where Nevaeh was staying. An hour later, three SUVs arrived, Beta Amira and Beta David happy to find their son safe and sound. To thank Nevaeh, they invited her to spend a few days with their pack. Nevaeh didn't refuse their kindness. There, she was welcomed like a heroine, which was far too much for her. After all, she had crossed Ian's path by chance... Or was it destiny?

She didn't regret her decision, as she immediately got along very well with Luna Zoe and Beta Amira. On her second day in the pack, Nevaeh had found out that after an attack that had claimed the life of Luna Zoe's sister - Luna Zahia of the blue night pack - Luna Zoe had suffered a serious injury to her lower abdomen, preventing her from carrying a child. Several surrogate mothers had been used, but none had been able to carry an Alpha's heir to full term.

Nevaeh had felt Luna Zoe's sadness and envy every time they were in the presence of children. She knew she would be able to carry their child to term for them, but how could she convince Luna Zoe - who had already resigned herself - all without revealing her secret. Nevaeh had finally disclosed that she should have been a Luna, but that they had rejected each other with her mate. As a potential Luna, she could therefore carry an Alpa pup. Despite all these revelations, Luna Zoe was still unconvinced, too afraid to face another deception. Her heart couldn't take it. Nevaeh had no idea how to convince her when she received an unexpected helping hand.

Indeed, two days later, a seer passing through the pack advised Luna Zoe and Alpha Jude that Nevaeh had been sent their way for a reason, and that they should trust her. And so it was that the following month, Nevaeh was pregnant with their child. The pregnancy was going very well and the baby was developing normally. The only negative point was the over-protective instincts of Alpha Jude and Luna Zoe, who wouldn't let her make a move without being on the lookout. They both drove Nevaeh completely nuts!

Today she had managed to go into town to buy a few books. She couldn't have gone alone, of course, even though the town was in pack territory. She had two guards following her everywhere. Thanks to a small but harmless accident that had caused quite a stir, she had managed to lose her two guards and had decided to go and drink a hot chocolate in a café away from the town center. She had just started reading the first page of her book when Brody entered the café. A smile spread across his lips as he met Nevaeh's gaze. He went to order before joining her.
