Faith, Caleb, Aaron and Scarlett had returned home after their training was interrupted by Nova's fight. They were waiting for Nova and Avery to return with the remains of their roommates from the Sekhmet house. It had been two hours now since they had gone for a run and everyone was hoping they would return soon. Lucas, Landon and Levi had arrived fifteen minutes earlier. Nova being with Avery, Lucas had assumed that she would go there first.

Lucas was waiting more or less patiently for his mate when some of the residents started to take out their instruments to settle down on the terrace that overlooked the back of the house. Faith moved in front of the improvised orchestra. A few minutes later, when everyone was in place, they started to play Roar by Katy Perry.

Soon, Avery and Nova came out of the edge of the woods before being joined by most of the residents of the mansion, while Faith was still singing in the background. Nova was welcomed like a rock star, under the cheers, screams and applause. It made her feel so good!

"I finally got my song!" She remarked with a laugh, once Faith had finished singing.

It was a mansion thing, they all had songs that defined them with more or less truth.

"Oh, you have plenty already!" Avery said to her.

"Yeah like Spice up Your Life, or How soon is now." Faith added.

"Yeah but this is my first own solo song." Nova said with a smile up to her ears.

"You're Ante Up, too now! You were too badass in the arena." Avery stated.

"See you got a lot of songs!" Faith declared.

"And you have the honor I don't have of having Lady Marmalade!" Scarlett commented enviously.

"Hey you never wanted to dance at the Den and Nova even did a private dance!" Faith protested.

"To her mate!" Scarlett countered

"Yeah but she did it anyway, unlike you!" Faith retorted.

Nova laughed: "Goddess, you are crazy but in the best way!"

Lucas who until then was speechless at the welcome his mate received and Nova's comfort around all these people who were strangers to him, cleared his throat to get the attention of his gorgeous mate: "Nova we can talk in private."

"I don't know..." Nova answered him on the reservation.

"Please, baby." Lucas begged her.

Nova nodded, before walking away with him. Once away from curious eyes and prying ears, Lucas took her in his arms.

"I'm so sorry. Since you came into my life, it has taken on a whole new meaning. A world without you doesn't make sense and losing you one day is my deepest fear. I'm sorry for using your Oracle gifts as an excuse to stop you from doing what you want. I never imagined that I was isolating you and locking you in a cage that even if it's golden is still a cage. That is never what I wanted and yet that is exactly what I did. You are a wonderful, strong person and I am sorry I made you doubt your abilities. The truth is that without you I am nothing and you, you are so much more than just my mate. And more I'm not even a good mate!" He stated to her.

"That's not true! You're many things and not just my mate and you're a fabulous mate. You're a fair Beta, serious when you need to be, but you also know how to joke around and lighten the mood when you need to. You are a perfect lover who knows my body on the tips of your fingers and lips..." Nova disagreed with him.

"If I was such a good mate, you would have told me what was going on... Not only you didn't tell me anything about these assholes but also how you found your place here..." Lucas said, looking her straight in the eye.
