Faith had given all her things to Caleb who was waiting for her at the exit, before running away into the forest. He followed her, not wanting to leave her alone. He found her easily, hiding behind a tree and crying. When she felt his presence and turned her back to him.
"I should have ordered you not to follow me!" She mumbled.
"No! You are not alone. You don't have to deal with this alone, not anymore." Caleb said, taking her in his arms.
"This is too much! All these people... Here to support me." She sobbed.
"You are exceptional Faith. You help everyone who needs it and always stand up for those who are lonely or treat unfairly."
"Even!" She whispered.
"I thought you were smart, Faith!" Caleb teased her to make her laugh, which worked.
It took Faith a good half hour to calm down and Caleb gave her the time she needed, even though by the end Faith could feel him bubbling with impatience.
"Okay! What's going on?" She finally asked him.
"I have something to show you. Come on!" Caleb replied, excited as a kid on Christmas Eve.
They went back to his car and picked up Avery, who grumbled along the way about how late they were. They drove for about thirty minutes through the forest in neutral territory. Caleb stopped in front of an old rusty gate.
"Where are we?" Avery asked, a little anxiously.
"Come take a look." Caleb said jumping out of his car.
He apparently had the keys to the gate. At the end of a tree-lined driveway was an old, abandoned mansion.
"This building was built by the Kappa Luna Queen sorority. A sorority that included every type of supernatural being from high ranking or freaking rich girl. Unfortunately the sorority was closed almost 80 years ago. Too much debauchery, oulala!!! It was then turned into a mental asylum whose nickname is only known: the Inferno hole. Yes, there were some shady things going on here, patients disappeared and it is said that it has been haunted ever since. It has been uninhabited since its last tenant died, 15 years ago. A former resident who didn't want to leave and was allowed to stay." Caleb explained as they headed to the mansion.
As the girls approached, they became aware of how huge it was. So vast that it looked more like a castle.
"Okay?" Avery commented perplexed.
"I didn't know you liked history, Caleb." Faith joked.
"We are in neutral territory. Behind it about a quarter mile away are the borders with the Night Howler pack and my mother'l and brothers' vampire coven." Caleb went on in his explanation.
"That's good but what's your point?" Faith was getting impatient.
Caleb smiled up to his ears. He was a genius!
"Welcome to our non-pack house." He announced raising his arms to the sky, proud.
He ran to open the front door: "After you, my ladies." He bowed to them.
Avery and Faith went around without a word, which worried Caleb a little.
"So what do you think?" He finally asked them, not being able to take it anymore.
Avery and Faith exchanged a look without letting their emotions show, making Caleb even more nervous.
"I know there's work to be done, a lot of it, but we finally have a place to welcome those who need it and a place to all live together. Plus, there's 150 acres of private woods to run in -" He stammered.
