Lucas had rushed to relate what he had discovered about Faith to his brother, Levi, and Mila. He had not left out any details, neither Faith's paranoia, neither the message Nova had given. Nor the fact that he and Nova were now convinced that she had unintentionally put on that perfume and that she had not purposely tried to pretend to be Levi's true soul mate. He also warned Levi, that he would stay out of Faith's way as Nova had ordered him. It was the first time Nova spoke in one of his visions and he did not want to anger the gods.

Levi thanked him for his research and told him that he had his trust and that if Faith really didn't do it on purpose, he would leave her alone as long as she didn't put that damn perfume back. Mila on her side was raging, not at all convinced of Faith's innocence. And since she was the only one to see it, she would have to prove them all wrong. She was not fooled. Girls like Faith are ready to do anything to get out of their misery.

That night Nova had collapsed from exhaustion in Lucas' arms. Having visions, or in this case, delivering a message, always drained her energy. Lucas, on the other hand, had difficulty finding sleep. Even if he knew that as an Oracle, Nova could also serve as a vessel to a god, it had never happened before. And the moment she had ordered him to stay away from Faith, Lucas had felt that it was no longer Nova. It was a strange feeling to have his mate in front of him without her being her... Really confusing.

Not being able to sleep, he had all the time in the world to think about what had happened at Faith's place. First of all, he had to think about what this goddess who had taken possession of his lover's body had said to Faith and this only reinforced Lucas in the idea that she was really very lonely. Maybe that's why Nova - not Nova - had talked about helping her. Maybe Faith needed to get some friends. At the same time, she had freaked him out with her paranoia. Honestly, who tricks their own apartment?! And here, in Hallhunt! One of the safest places in the world, even in the neutral zone nothing ever happened.

As the night went on he thought back to Faith's words, until he remembered her first sentence. It was vague as he was just regaining consciousness, but he thought he recalled her saying something about not being there for Nova when she needed him...

When Nova woke up, Lucas bombarded her with questions about it. Nova kicked aside and remained very evasive in her answers before running away in the bathroom. Something had therefore really occurred, he had concluded. And as Nova refused to talk to him, he decided to go and see Faith so that she could clarify the situation and he could punish whoever had dared to bother his mate. Knowing her schedule, it was easy for Lucas to find her and ask her to elaborate on what she had meant. Faith was not happy to see him but told him what she had seen and the two names she had heard. She had even given a precise description of the stalkers and Lucas knew very well who she was talking about. He wanted to make them pay but he knew that Nova would take it badly. Especially since she had refused to tell him about it. He was going to take dear to the next training and he would also slip a warning. As always Landon and Levi had supported her in her speech and Levi had even warned that the punishment would be severe if anyone was caught harassing Nova.

The weeks passed quietly and Faith maintained a low profile and avoided Levi and his gang. Levi didn't catch the scent and as the days went by, he relaxed. Everything was back to normal even if Mila kept an eye on Faith. She hadn't forgotten her trick and she was watching for the slightest slip-up. She was surprised when she saw Faith present herself to join the cheeleader team.

Faith loved to dance and her mother had been a cheerleader, that's why she applied. As for Mila, she was mad with rage. How dare she? She really didn't have any pride! Her team, really! Yes, Mila had played up her relationship with Levi to become the team captain. There was no way she was going to make the team and support the foot's team and therefore Levi. Over her dead body! Mila had her proof now. She was going to destroy her! Ruin her completely! She looked at Faith dancing while imagining all the ways to humiliate her.

"You call that dancing! You look like a bitch in heat, desperate for attention. It's pathetic!" Mila scoffed, looking at Faith from head to toe with disgust.

"What's your problem? We don't even know each other!" Faith retorted.

"I know sluts like you. All the same ones, willing to do anything to become a high ranking wolf! You, social climber bitch!"

"Wow! So you're the queen B here! Go back to high school or grow up! Where do you think you are now? Kindergarten?!" Faith snorted.

"Do you even know who you're talking to?!" Mila snarled.

"Queen B! The one who thinks she's something she's not! Clearly unsatisfied who have to take her own frustration out on everyone else."

"I'm Levi's girlfriend!"

"Ah! That explains it. That jerk doesn't make you feel secure is what I was saying! "

Mila growled at her words, "You have no idea who you're dealing with you bitch. You've burned yourself out for the rest of your studies! This is not the place to put you out of your misery, gold digger!"

"At least I'm not a mate stealer!" mocked Faith.

She didn't know whether to be amused or annoyed by the situation. She preferred to leave the room before she lost control and did something she would later regret. She was there to graduate so she could fight for the causes she believed in and nothing else! She wasn't going to let some dumb Alpha and his trashy girlfriend make her lose sight of her goals. If she wasn't making friends because of them then so be it. She wasn't here to make friends, anyway. Besides, she knew and was used to loneliness.

After that day, Faith could hear some people making fun of her as she passed by, sometimes even insulting her, but it didn't matter. They didn't. Those kind of people weren't worth her time or her acknowledgement. The only one who dared to confront her directly was Mila, but she was unable to remain calm, which amused Faith immensely. Every time she was confronted, Mila would go away mad and lose her temper. She was really dumb to go back every time.

The last time Faith had advised her to go and have a good fuck to make her feel more relaxed. An hour later, Levi had stormed in accusing her of spreading gossips that he was not a good fuck. Faith had burst out laughing, telling him that she had only advised his girlfriend to fuck to loosen up and that it was Mila who had cried out that her boyfriend didn't satisfy her in bed. Even though she seemed to be making light of the situation, it was starting to weigh on her that she had to deal with this bitch on a daily basis. She didn't want to lose control. She couldn't and she knew it. And her patience was really starting to run low... She hoped it would calm down as the weeks went by but Mila was a tough cookie who wouldn't drop it.

Faith concentrated on her studies, ignoring the mockery and insults that came her way. She kept a low profile and didn't interfere in other people's business, or at least as little as possible. She had intervened several times when she had witnessed bullying. She did not like to see those who thought they were the strongest picking on the weakest! In these circumstances, she couldn't help herself. She had no choice but to step in and defend those in need. Her parents had always told her that it was in her nature and that she should be proud of it. It was indeed part of her.

Faith had also discovered that she wasn't the only hated one at the university. Lucas had a half-brother, Caleb, who was a rumored loser. Both of them were fighting for the spot of the loser at Barsch Academy. Faith didn't care about the gossips but was curious to meet him. What had happened for him to be so unpopular?
