Their early years of reign had been tumultuous, but Levi and Nevaeh, surrounded by all their loved ones and supporters, managed to face it with relative ease. Establishing the kingdom and their authority over other supernatural beings had taken some time. Nevaeh had always known she would have a special place among the werewolves, but she had never imagined she would reign over all supernatural beings. The responsibility overwhelmed her every time she thought about it.

"What are you thinking?" Levi asked once he sensed the dizziness Nevaeh felt at the thought.

"Have you ever wondered what would have happened if we had marked and mated while we were in college?" She asked him in turn, the question gnawing at her.

"We weren't mature enough to handle all of that. We needed to grow and build ourselves before becoming worthy of our position, for me to become worthy of you," Levi replied simply.

"And me of you," she agreed.

"With the hindsight I have now, I know we weren't ready, neither of us."

"And the world wasn't ready for us either. The time you spent rallying Alphas to our cause was necessary. It would have been chaos that we would have struggled to manage. We would have made it, but it would have been difficult and exhausting," Nevaeh added.

"Yes, together we are invincible."

"Are we really, my heart? All our loved ones are in danger and/or coveted..." She sighed.

"I know, my dear, but the moon goddess had plans for us, and all our loved ones are either powerful themselves or mated to a powerful being."

"You're right about them; we're already so much! Thankfully, they are by our side."

"By your side. You have a presence that is enchanting to those around you. Moreover, your aura encompasses us all, nourishes ours. Without you, nothing would have been possible," Levi replied to her.

"And without you, without them, I am nothing."

"I disagree. Alone, you have done so much. You have made so many people happy... free... You are full of love and kindness, just but also ruthless when someone threatens those you love, what is important to you. You make this world a better place to live in."

"I just want a better world for our children... And their children," Nevaeh added.

She smiled. "I still can't believe I'm going to be a grandmother! They're only 18!"

Levi chuckled softly. "I was sure Evangeline and Oliver would have been the first! If we had bet, I would have lost."

"Me too! It's only been 6 months since Sawyer met June, and in 4 months, they'll be parents! They didn't waste any time! I hope it won't give any ideas to Evangeline and Oliver."

"I think it will... Last time I overheard Evangeline and Ashley talking. They were discussing how great it would be for Sawyer's son to grow up with a cousin his age, like the two of them did."

"He'll already be growing up with an uncle his age! That should be enough," Nevaeh protested, caressing her stomach.

Levi came to stand behind her, to caress her stomach in turn and feel their son growing. Their surprise baby! After Savannah - born 10 months after Levi and Nevaeh had marked each other, and Louise who followed 11 months later, they had decided that was enough. Moreover, their responsibilities took up a lot of their time, so they didn't want to sacrifice more time with their children. It's true that Oliver had taken over the reins of the deep waters pack at 18, just like Sawyer had taken over the blue night pack a few months ago, on his 18th birthday. Nevaeh and Levi could therefore fully devote themselves to managing their kingdom and the hundred packs and communities under their charge. But it was a full-time job for both of them, so they had decided that their two little girls were enough. Nevertheless, the moon goddess had decided otherwise with this surprise baby. They were very happy with the news and were already reorganizing their work to spend time with all their children.

Touched by the news, Avery had new desires for motherhood and had convinced Landon to embark on parenthood again for one last child, who would ultimately be two last children, as Avery was expecting twins. In their madness, Nevaeh and Avery had managed to persuade Scarlett to join them in the adventure, and they had learned last week that she was also pregnant. Nova had declined, having enough to do with her 3 pirates and her princess. Seriously, with all these babies on the way, they could open a kindergarten!

Still, Nevaeh couldn't believe she was becoming a mother again at the same time she was becoming a grandmother! Knowing she would have this last child had made her feel young again... A moment of euphoria that lasted only 4 weeks, until Sawyer announced to her that she was going to be a grandmother... At first, she thought it was an accident, but talking to her son, she quickly realized that Sawyer wanted to be a young father to spend as much time as possible with his children, he who had lost his father too young. He was very serene about his upcoming child, just as he had been when he took on the position of Alpha of the pack. He had explained to his mother that he had the best possible model of an Alpha - her - and the best of fathers to show him how to be one, which is why he had no worries. Nevaeh admired this part of his personality that he clearly inherited from his father. As for herself, she was anxious and despite her outward confidence, always second-guessed everything. Levi often told her that it made her a good queen because she always weighed all her decisions.

"And what if we went home for a little naughty nap?" Levi suggested, bringing her back to the present moment.

"Hmm... I love that idea!" She looked at her watch. "Moreover,, we still have two hours before the girls come back. Let's go before someone calls us out!"

They discreetly slipped away and managed to avoid everyone before returning home. Unfortunately, Caleb was in their kitchen, searching for something in their fridge.

"I thought you had a fridge at your place," Levi greeted him despondently.

"Scarlett is craving Roquefort," Caleb explained.

"You know neither of us likes that kind of cheese..." Nevaeh retorted.

Caleb muttered, "Nev! You're our queen. You're supposed to have everything at your place! And even if you don't, if you ask, we'll find it for you in a snap." His face lit up suddenly. "Just ask for Roquefort and I'll have it! Please!"

"Scarlett can't teleport you to France, would that be quicker?" Levi asked.

"You haven't seen her, she's going to turn me into a toad! The twins are driving her hysterical! If I disappear in the next few weeks, she has to be your first suspect. Plus, it's nighttime in France right now."

"Ah, pregnant women's hormones... Avery was also very -" Levi began.

"I advise you not to finish that sentence! Your mate is pregnant too and she's glaring at us right now!" Caleb warned him mentally.

"Radiant but a little bit hard to keep up with," Levi corrected himself just in time.

Nevaeh shook her head before taking out her phone and tapping on it.

"You'll have your cheese at your place in about thirty minutes," Nevaeh declared to Caleb.

"Thank you! You're a lifesaver!" Caleb said before bidding them farewell and leaving.

"Finally alone... Are you still up for that little nap?" Levi asked Nevaeh, taking her in his arms.

"I don't know... With all my pregnancy hormones..." Neveah teased him.

"I know a very good way to make it up to you. Follow me, I'll show you," he said, leading her to their bedroom.

Nevaeh and Levi had come a long way since the first time they met as kids. For a long time, they both believed their paths would remain parallel without ever crossing again, Levi staying in the shadow of Nevaeh's. They had matured separately to better find each other again and build together. Both were grateful for Brody's place in their lives and what he had brought to them. They cherished their love and felt lucky to share a long journey together.
