Sting Roman's POV

I got off the horse as we entered the central of the town. There was not a single soul in sight, the only sound that could be heard was the light splashes of water from the old fountain. I pulled my hood over my head and sent a hand sign to Rogue, signalling to him that we should get going.

He nodded and pulled over his hood. We walked with soft steps around the town, hoping to find some clues or some sort. As we penetrated deeper into the town, a house surrounded by dead trees stood before us solemnly.

"This must be the Minister's house or something." Rogue whispered loud enough for me to hear.

"Let's check it out." I said. He nodded as we proceeded into the house.

We pushed open the double doors slowly and entered the dark hallway. Just as we took each step, the torches perched on the wall started to light up.

They knew we were coming.

I gave a quick glance to Rogue and he nodded in response. We held our weapons, ready for the enemy's ambush. However, long seconds passed and nothing happened. Just as we were about to sheathe our weapons back, an old man holding onto a rusty lamp approached us with a crooked smile on his face.

The both of us returned to our battle stance.

"Good evening gentlemen. Welcome to the Quix Mansion." The elderly man said as he bowed politely. He gazed at us again with his unsettling smile, "Don't worry, I mean no harm." He assured.

I glanced at Rogue again, he nodded to me and I nodded back. Rogue hid his weapon in his cloak as I inhaled deeply.

Rogue took a step back behind me.

I calmed my mind before staring straight into the man's eyes.

I unsheathe my weapon once more, and within seconds, my pocket knife was at the man's throat. The man did not seem fazed by my quick actions at all. I grazed the tip of my knife at his throat slightly, "Where's your leader?" I said monotonously.

"I have no idea of what you speak of, young man." The old man replied calmly.

I tightened my grip on him before I said again, "Don't make me repeat myself."

"I really don't know wh-" Before he could complete his sentence, my knife sunk into the depths of his throat. I threw the limp body away like a rag doll as blood dripped from my knife.

Ah, this familiar stench of blood...

I paid no attention to the stain on my cloak and continued to move forward.

"We could've gotten information from him." Rogue said plainly as we walked down the hallway.

"You know we couldn't." I replied as I turned behind to face him. "Besides, he seemed to know something that we don't." I continued.

Rogue only sighed and shook his head.

--

The me who is familiar to the stench of blood made me feel nauseous.

Killing people; I never wanted to do this.

I never wanted my hands to be stained so red 'till I couldn't see the colour of my skin anymore.

I never wanted this life, I never wanted to kill anyone, I never wanted any of this.

Someone, please,

Save me.

Lucy de Fiore's POV

The old woman summoned her army of servants and we were completely outnumbered.

"So how do you like this Princess?" The old woman croaked.

"No matter how many you have, trash is still trash." Leo taunted smugly.

"Oh darling we'll see about that." The old woman smiled and commenced attack.

Hundreds of her minions charged at us viciously. I fought my way through and managed to carve an open space to the old woman. I charged with my sword pointed at her. She dodged easily as I continued to attack her with fast spikes. As a result, I managed to inflict several cuts on her body.

"That's our Princess!" Leo cheered as he fought off one of the soldiers. I smiled at him before returning my gaze to the old woman.

"Not bad Princess." The old woman stood up as several light orbs surrounded her staff. Just within a few seconds, her injuries healed.

"What on earth..." I was taken aback by her insane healing power.

Magic? I thought all witches were all annihilated a century ago! I thought.

"Surprised Princess?" The old woman smirked. "I'll show you something even more amazing." She muttered.

Just then, light came out from nowhere and surrounded her. Her wrinkles started to disappear and her once greying hair regained its former blonde dye. Her hair grew longer and youth blessed her frail, old body once more.

"What the-" Scorpio trailed off with a flabbergasted look on his face.

Just as she completed her transformation, her hazel eyes filled with power stared sharply at me. "Let me introduce myself again," The witch said as she slowly summoned more of her minions around her. "My name is Michelle Quix, the witch that is the ancestor to all magic that ever existed." She breathed in again before slamming her staff down to the ground, creating a magic circle that acted as a portal for more of her minions to enter the battle. "And I am not a hag." Michelle smiled sweetly at Aquarius before pointing her staff at her, causing Aquarius to fly down the stairs with a loud crash.

"Aquarius!" I cried.

"Oh Princess, please focus solely on me. I don't think you have the luxury to worry about your companions." Michelle said as her magic slowly resurrected the fallen soldiers that we cut down before.

"Now let's start our battle again, shall we?" Michelle stated as she smiled at me.

"I couldn't ask for a battle plan." I said angrily.

"Oh then you better be ready Princess," Michelle said as she started to chant a few spells.

"Don't die on me too fast, hag." I mimicked Aquarius as I raised my sword steadily, ready to take down the enemy that hurt my comrade.

"Mark my words, I won't." Michelle said with a smug grin on her face.

Just like that, our swords clashed once more.

Sting Roman's POV

We walked further into the hallways and spotted a spiral staircase. The both of us descended the stairs.

Cells could be seen with rusty metal gates as we went down the stone steps slowly. The deeper we went, sounds of swords clashing against each other could be heard.

Rogue noticed it too.

We nodded to each other and went down the stairs quickly in a stealth manner.

Just as we entered the scene, a body came flying towards me at a quick speed. I panicked slightly and cut down the body by instinct.

"Sting?!"

The bittersweet voice that I longed to hear every day rang in my eardrums. I focused my gaze at the owner of the voice. Her clothes were all battered up and she was panting heavily.

Before I could say anything, a young woman charged at Lucy and screamed, "Focus only on me Princess!"

Due to me being a sudden distraction, Lucy could not react in time to block her attack. I rushed to her side immediately and with a blink of an eye, the woman was on the floor.

I turned back and smiled at the person that meant the world to me. Her name then flowed out of lips almost too pleasantly, "Lucy."
