Lucy de Fiore's POV

"I love you" He mumbled before his lips met mine.

---

"-cy. Lucy!"

I opened my eyes slowly as I looked around my surroundings. Ah, I'm in my room at the Dexent Mansion. I sat up on the soft bed and let out a groan. My neck hurts like hell.

"Oh thank god you woke up. What were you thinking! Sleeping in the rain, you could've gotten sick!" I looked at the person that was lecturing me, his salmon hair was ruffled messily as he looked at me with worry. I let out a hoarse voice, "S-Sorry." Natsu sighed and plopped back into his chair before speaking, "So," He focused his gaze on me, "Tell me, why were you sleeping in the rain." Oh right, why was I sleeping in the rain? I'm not that stup-

That's when I realised.

Natsu Dexent's POV

"Sting!" Lucy raised her tone and looked at me with widened eyes as if she remembered something. Wait, did she just say 'Sting'? Isn't that the boy from her childhood?

"What about him?" I asked. Lucy then played with her fingers and looked down, with her gaze on the blanket. She looked confused and....sad?

"What's wrong Lucy? You can tell me anything." I reassured her as I held her hand. She then look into my onyx eyes as she opened her mouth to speak, "I-I saw him... Just now when I left you, I met him in the woods..." Her voice came out shakily as if she was ready to break any moment. I squeezed her hand and let her continue, "H-He looked so sad like he was in pain. He didn't want to tell me what happened, he only left me with parting words saying that it would be the last time that we would meet... Natsu I don't know what to do, really. After all these years I found him and he pushed me away. I don't know how to deal with this..." Lucy's tears trailed down her cheeks one by one.

Don't cry.

I hugged her and cooed, "Sshh, it's okay. Everything is going to be alright." I could feel her head shaking in response. I released the hug and cupped my both my hands on her face. "Lucy I promise it's going to be okay, trust me." I said with determination. All she did was nod meekly with hesitance. That's good enough for now. I grinned broadly and said, "Good! Now you have to rest, you must be exhausted after such a tiring day." I spoke as I put Lucy in bed.

She feels like a little sister.

I chuckled at that thought and pulled the covers over her and kissed her forehead, "Goodnight Lucy." I walked to the door and switched off the lights before stepping out. I leaned against the wall and sighed, "Sting, huh." Suddenly, a certain family name clicked in my mind, "The Roman family...?" I shook my thoughts away, "Nah, it couldn't be."

Sting Roman's POV

"I have returned, Master." I said humbly as I bowed before the huge man. "What took you so long?" He growled. I stiffened at his question.

Lucy...

No... I quickly cleared my thoughts away as I replied, "My apologies, I ran across some problems on the way back." There was silence between us for one moment before he spoke, "Hmmm...I hope this won't happen again, Sting. I expect my orders to be done in time perfectly." I gave a quick reply, "Yes, sir." He nodded in satisfaction before he dismissed me.

I walked out of the hall and noticed my partner, Rogue, leaning against the stony wall causally, "So what really happened, Sting?" I sighed. I can never keep anything from this guy, "Come," I gestured to him and brought us away to a room far away from the hall.

I sat down on one of the wooden stools as he continued standing, still waiting for an answer. I appreciate that he's giving me time to spill everything out. Finally, I mustered enough courage and talked, "I met her... I met Lucy." His gaze didn't falter as he spoke, "So? You always follow her around sometimes, I don't see why it makes this time special." I contemplated on what to say next and sighed, "Look, I don't even know why I told you about Lucy in the first place okay. It's weird and all but this time is different Rogue. It's different. I talked to her and made her cry." His eyes widened before returning to his normal nonchalant expression. "You know that you shouldn't have done that. Are you mad?" His voice laced with a hint of worry. "I know I know, but y'know I just missed her so much. So much that it hurts really bad here," I said as I pointed to my heart.

This time it was his turn to sigh, "You should stop seeing her already. Plus, if that madman in the hall found out about this, you're going to be in a hell load of trouble." I just nodded and replied, "Yeah.." He patted me on the back before leaving.

I took out my chain necklace and saw two silver rings dangling there, on each rings carved our names, Sting and Lucy.

I wish I could tell you everything Lucy. I just want to take you to somewhere faraway and live together happily just like we used to.

But I can't. I have sins more than anyone could imagine. It's fine if I'm tainted, I just don't way to taint your pure self too...

Normal POV

The sinful man kissed the rings as he thought of a fleeting image of a blonde princess.

They were meant to be together until fate pulled them cruelly apart. Now then, I wonder how will this story unfold.
