Hello Readers! It has been a looooooooong time I know. FORGIVE ME. Thank you so much for the 35K reads and votes! I'm done with my exams and I'm tasting freedom now!! I apologize for the long wait, but here's a new chapter. Enjoy!

Sting Roman's POV

One of my knees were on the floor along with my right fist as I kept my head low before the presence of this man. I asked, "You called for me, Master Jiemma?"

That man sat on his throne as he looked down at me from the podium. "So I've heard that you're having that ridiculous fear again?"

I flinched slightly but I covered it up immediately with my cool demeanour "I apologize, this will not happen again."

"It better not, or I can't guarantee the life of your precious princess." The gruff voice that I was supposedly accustomed to, sent fear coursing through my body with his words. I widened my eyes slightly before bringing my head lower, "Please leave her out of this, I'll never make the same mista— no, I'll never make any mistakes again."

"Good, I hope you keep to your word Sting. You may leave." Master Jiemma replied in a slightly pleased manner.

I gave him a final bow before leaving the room. As I stepped out of that suffocating place, I walked with long strides towards my room. I slammed the door shut before kicking the stool closest to me, causing it to break after it made contact with the stone wall.

I was breathing heavily and my thoughts were running amok. I sat on the edge of my bed and ran my fingers through my hair. With my hands gripping onto the sides of my head, I tried to clear my mind. I shut my eyes and urged myself to start thinking.

This is worse than I've expected. Will Gajeel be enough to protect Lucy?

Will Lucy be safe?

This isn't good, I have to stay away from Lucy to clear Master Jiemma's suspicions.

I messed up my hair in frustration.

God damn, I knew this would freaking happen. This is all my fault, I'm the one putting Lucy in danger because of my selfishness. If only I didn't reveal myself to Lucy, if only I didn't—

At that point, Lucy's smiling face flashed through my mind. My breath hitched at the back of my throat.

Unknowingly, I fished out the rings around my neck and looked at the engraved words. Just by looking at her name, everything feels like it's going to be alright. I bring it to my lips and gave it a light kiss.

Her existence really does give me courage.

I slapped my cheeks a few times to calm myself down.

I can't leave her, not after knowing the feeling of having her by my side again.

I can do this, I'll protect her with these tainted hands that she embraced kindly.

I squeezed the rings tightly in my fist, feeling more determined than ever.

I'll protect you Lucy, and I will do whatever it takes to keep you safe.

Lucy de Fiore's POV

It has been days since Rogue left and nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary.

For now.

I have this uneasy feeling at the pit of my stomach that I just can't seem to get rid of. I exited my room and walked to the hallways. Just as I was descending the stairs from the second floor, the owner of the inn called for me.
