Lucy de Fiore's POV
I placed my arms on the wooden edge of the window and stared outside. There were thousands of stars making the night sky glow.
The cool night breeze soothed my nerves and I shut my eyes in relaxation. I let a soft sigh as I thought about what happened earlier.
A small smile spread to my lips before a giggle escaped.
It makes me happy by the slightest thought of him.
That blonde man sure knew how to work his way to my heart.
Just as I was about to put myself to sleep, my door crashed open.
"What the-"
"Princess! You have my deepest apologies for intruding, but this is not the time to sleep. Get changed and come out immediately." Leo said with slight panic before marching off.
I blinked twice before I comprehended what he said. In a flash, I changed into my battle amour and grabbed my weapon before exiting the building.
I met up with the others at the entrance of the inn. They were already on their horses, ready to leave.
"What on earth is going on?" I asked.
"Forgive me Princess, but for now, get on the horse. I'll explain as we go along." Capricorn said.
I nodded and did as they said. Our horses raced into the forest and the others were sticking awfully close to me while constantly looking back.
I eyed at them for an explanation.
"Princess, I don't have the time to explain everything now, but the soldiers from Fiore have pinpointed where we are and they are now hot on our heels." Gemini explained.
I bit my lip as I thought, "Already huh?"
Then, I nodded, "Understood."
As the horses continued to jump over trunks and other obstacles in the forest, arrows started to fire in our direction.
"Princess!" Leo shouted my name worriedly.
I kept my eyes to the front and shouted back, "Don't worry about me! Focus on running!"
Just then an arrow flew past and missed me by a few inches before striking the tree trunk. I looked back and saw more soldiers approaching.
"Shit!" I cussed loudly.
This is not good. At this rate, we're going to get caught.
I glanced back again and assessed their numbers.
12...21...30,
30 men in total.
We should be able to do it.
I glanced at my subordinates and nodded to each one of them.
I gnawed my jaws together before I pulled the reins of my horse. I raised my left hand high and shouted, "Guardians! Engage in battle!"
All of the horses stopped and we let out a battle cry. We dismounted the horse and raised our weapons.
I unsheathed my rapier and slashed the nearest soldier.
