Natsu Dexent's POV

My footsteps resounded heavily on the marble hallway. I grip my perspiring hands as my nails sink into my flesh, soon each breath I took got harder and harder.

As my hands reached out for the door knob, I swallowed a lump in my throat before opening the doors.

"You're finally back, Natsu." A gruff voice said.

The man whom I called Father sat on the sofa and stared at me with piercing eyes.

"Hello Father." I greeted.

"Take a seat, we have a lot to catch up on." He said as his eyes trailed my every movement.

I sat on the chair opposite of him and looked at him knowingly, "Yes we do, I have unanswered questions that I need to ask you."

He let out a deep laugh and said, "Oh really?" Then, he set his tea cup down and said, "What is it?"

After pausing for a moment, I replied, "Do you know the organization that goes by the name of Sabertooth?"

He stroked his chin as he contemplated, "I've heard of that name before. They are a group of skilled assassins aren't they?"

I clenched my teeth tightly to contain my emotions , "Still pretending huh."

"Yes they are. They are the group that killed Lisanna and her family." I said in a low tone.

He did not looked surprise at all, instead he let out a loud sigh, "It's such a shame, yes? However with her now gone, I'm sure you'll be able to proceed your engagement with the Princess."

I slammed the table with my fists as I glared at him, "I'll love no one other than her."

He then raised his voice, "When are you going to stop this childish act?" Without any hesitation, I shot back at him, "Childish? That's a lot coming from you."

He stood up, causing the coffee table to shake and spilling the tea, "What did you say?"

I pointed an accusing finger at him and yelled, "Weren't you the one that hired those murderers to kill Lisanna? How could you do such a devilish thing?"

He was taken aback by my sudden aggression, however he regained his composure not long after. "Whose fault do you think it is? For whose sake do you think I'm dirtying my hands-"

I cut him off and shouted, "No one asked you to do this! NO ONE!" Tears trickled down my cheeks as I felt the boiling energy in me. Blood was rushing to my head and the recollection of that tragic night was recounted in my mind. "Do you know how much pain you've caused?" I said, with a small voice, "Do you?"

"Enough!" He shouted.

"No..." I mumbled as I staggered uneasily to him.
I stood right in front of him with our faces separated only by a few centimetres.

"You took away the woman I loved most, you destroyed my world and now..." I trailed off in a low voice filled with hatred. I pushed his shoulder down with such great force that he fell back on the sofa.

I looked down at him with fury as I felt my mind being blurred by a thick haze, "...I'm going to destroy yours."

I took out the potion from my back pouch with quick succession before chugging it down his throat.

He flung his arms around and struggled fiercely until the potion took effect. His arms dropped to his sides as he lay on the sofa motionlessly.

I gave him one last fleeting glance before I exited the mansion.

That day, I finally broke free from my Father's manipulation.

Sting Roman's POV

Our horses galloped back to our headquarters after we said bid goodbye to Lucy and her companions.

They handed Michelle to us after much persuasion.

Right after they left, we decapitated her head before bringing it back to Master Jiemma.

With this, our mission was completed.

We got our bounty and decided to head to town for some drinks. We headed to a nearby bar and settled down at the counter.

Soft music was playing and no words were exchanged.

"Say," Rogue broke the silence as he continued staring at the wall. "You really love Lucy don't you?" He said as he downed another shot of alcohol.

I smiled to myself at the mere mention of her name, "Yeah, I do."

He sighed as he turned to me, "I really don't mean to break it to you but you know this is going to be difficult right?"

I looked down and swirled the liquid in my glass before replying, "I know. I won't let anything harm her, not even Master."

He turned back and continued with his drinks as he muttered, "You better."

I smiled at him even though I knew he wasn't looking.

Thanks Rogue...

I took out my chain necklace and gazed at it fondly.

Seeing our carved names on the rings made me feel melancholic. I kissed the ring with her name on it and thought about the future we share that may never exist.

Pledging our love for each other before the presence of God,

Living together peacefully and blissfully,

Raising a small, but happy family together,

Growing old together,

And finally, meeting each other once more in our next lives together...

But I know, this is all but a dream that may never come true.

I shut my eyes as I felt this indescribable regret and sadness in me.

Lucy...

At the very least, I promise I will protect you to the very end, even if it means I would breathe my last breath all alone...

You may be far from where I am now, but please remember that I love you more than life itself. I fear the day where I may never see your bright smile ever again, and there is where I would truly feel is the end.

Compared to you, everything else is insignificant to me, so please somehow be safe until I see you again..
