Woah, that was a narrow escape. I was so not ready to meet the non grump Kaira Bhardwaj, but fate has it in for us, I guess, and above all, Misha wouldn't just stop questioning her. She is becoming a mini version of maa, I am telling you guys, she won't let me be peace now and tell everything to bhai and bhabhi.

"Misha, that was not done." I said, placing her on the couch.

"What did I even do?" She questioned back oh so innocently.

"You know what you did." I said, glaring at.

"What did she really do but?" Bhabhi said, sitting beside her.

"Mumma, you know there was this girl who was, I think, Chachu's friend. We met them and she, Kaira Di and her friend, Aisha Di are so sweet and they go to small trips every weekend and I asked them to take me with them sometime, so Chachu is getting jealous." She replied, little liar.

"You left out the part where you were interrogating Kaira about her job and hobbies." I said, glaring at her, and she made a cute innocent pout while Bhabhi started laughing in the background.

"Bhabhi, you too?" I asked, flopping down, all the tiredness kicking in from the whole day.

"Achha, tell me how they looked?" Bhabhi asked excitedly.

"They both were so pretty, like some models." Misha replied.

Come to think of it, Kaira is pretty when she is not showering sarcastic comments on me. Her laugh, I saw her first time laughing wholeheartedly this evening. I have known her for two years, mainly due to my contacts with the embassy, but never I had seen her this carefree even not in the events. There is always a frown on that face.

"Tell us about her, Ishu." Bhabhi said in a teasing tone.

"There is nothing to tell. She is not even my friend, just someone I know." I said, getting up and starting for my room before they could start another round of investigation.

Thoughts of certain someone were hard to get out of my mind, but I did anyway and went into deep slumber. Morning came with my mother's proposals.

"Maaaa, I don't want to marry just yet." I said while eating the breakfast. This is my mother, and she just keeps pushing me for marriage, like what the hell is so important for me to marry.

"Bhai is married na, enjoy that." I said, rushing back to my room to get my stuff and head to the office.

I checked my emails, hoping for some kind of response to my irritating note. I attached the document, but there was none. I said dejectedly and went to the office. Why am I even waiting for the response? More likely, she has already turned back to grumpy Kaira, everyone knows.

My phone dinged, indicating an email from Kaira. um, nice.

"Mr. Malhotra, I have forwarded your mail to The Ambassador, and this is to inform you that she would like to meet you tomorrow if you were free." It read.

What? No comebacks or taunts or anything? Shit, she didn't actually forward it without reading, did she? No, she is not that stupid, but what if?

I instantly replied that I would be present, just convey the timing to me. Am I in deep shit? Probably. Do I want my mother to know it? I don't know.

The ambassador is a lady, and she is a good friend of my mother and some more Indian ladies here. I would be laughing in stock if the above situation really occurred. I will deal with it later.

Well, my office days are usually uneventful, except some snobbish people demanding upgrades at last minute or some bride crying over flowers or Centre pieces, hey I am not blaming brides, I just lack the energy that one needs to handle all this kind of situations. I might as well go home, have a glass of wine, and read my favorite book with music, of course.

I know I am in a business where a lot of socialization and connections are needed, but I have my quota of energy to spend here, and once that is finished, I am out of here.

"Ishu, you are home? Look at these pictures. The girls are so beautiful." Maa said as soon as I entered the house.

"Maaaa, please. I don't want to see them." I said, sitting down on the couch, Bhabhi came out listening to all the commotion.

"Why don't you want to marry anyone I am suggesting?" She asked, sitting down beside me.

"Maybe he already has someone in his mind." Bhabhi commented, and I shot her a glare while she just grinned.

"Really, Ishu? Make me meet her." Maa said happily.

"I am just saying Maa, not that it's true." Bhabhi added again, and I sighed.

"Maa, I have had a really tiring day. Please leave me alone tonight." I said, getting up and heading up to my room.

Kaira's image had popped up in my mind when Bhabhi commented about me having someone in mind, I wonder why?

Here, I will answer you, because you absolutely love to annoy her. My subconscious replied.

Leave me out of this, I really don't have the energy to fight now. I replied back to that voice in my head.

I got freshened up and laid on my bed with a book. About after an hour, a small head popped into my room with her sweet voice, Misha came inside and stationed herself beside me.

"Chachu, Dadi said to inform you that tomorrow you have to go shopping with me, Mumma and Dadi. And now she is calling you for dinner." She said as if reciting a poem.

"Okay, madam, let's go." I said, ruffling her hair, to which she huffed, saying that I messed up her princess hairs. She made a cute pout and ran out of the room, with me following her.
