"Aren't you getting a little too friendly with him?" I asked Aisha as soon as she entered the house.
"Not everyone is grumpy like you." She replied, sitting beside me.
"15 minutes with him, and you are also calling me grumpy." I replied, sighing.
"Because you are one, not to us but to the outer world. It's like you live two completely separate lives and with two faces and personalities." She replied.
"It's not like that. I don't like all people. I love you guys, but it took me time to open up to you both, too, na. I try, but it's hard to trust people after what happened 6 years ago. That's why it's easy to be grumpy than trusting everyone who walks by." I said, and she snaked an arm around my shoulder.
"Stop Kaira, you need to get out there. You will be turning 27 this year. Do you think your parents will let you live if you don't marry someone soon?" She asked.
"I won't give them any other option." I said, interlinking our arms and resting my head on her shoulder. Aisha is my own pillar of support, I am closer to Aisha than compared to Avni. Avni and I are usually good in banters only.
"In my opinion, Ishaan is a good guy. You can give him a chance." She said, wiggling her shoulder.
"Just because he reads books like you?" I asked back.
"How do you know that?" She asked, fully turning to face me.
"Oh please, I have been dealing with him for two years. And he doesn't shut up, so I know a lot of things. Not that I want to, I just remember." I said, holding a hand when Aishu wanted to speak.
"See, there's already a connection." She said, grinning.
"It's late. It's affecting your brain, go and sleep." I said, pushing her and getting up.
"It's never too late for loveee." She said, giving me finger hearts.
I pretended to take them and crushed them, Aisha made a horrified look, and I returned to my room.
I saw Avni coming out, but I was done for the day, so I let them talk and got inside covers.
I drifted to sleep gradually. When I woke up, I saw Aishu, lying next to me. What happened to her now?
Whenever she has a bad day or fights with someone, she comes to sleep with me or Avni. She hasn't gone to Avni, which means that she fought with Avni.
I came out, and Avni was just having breakfast.
"What did you two fight about?" I asked, crossing my arms.
"I just asked her help in proposing Aman with Krish and you. She denied that she didn't want to work with Krish. I asked why, and she said that I don't need to know. For God's sake, why doesn't she want to tell us? Am I like the villain or something here?" Avni spoke.
"Avni, these things can't be forced. I hope you understand soon and not torture her to tell what happened with Krish and her." I said and went back to my room.
Usually, it's a holiday on Sunday for everyone, but Avni is working on an important project along with some colleagues, so she is off to work.
I went back, cuddled with Aishu, and fell asleep.
I also don't know what had happened, but I remember that night. I was coming back to the hostel, and she was sitting on the stairs and crying. We weren't friends back then, and I used to work part time, fortunately I was late that day, as I found Aishu.
Our one warden was strict and bitch, and she was on duty that day. She called Aisha some very bad things, as she missed the deadline of hostel and was late. Aishu was gullible in that days and it took a heavy toll on her, that bitch's words.
From that day onwards, we started talking and became good friends. I till date don't know what happened, but whatever it is, I am on Aisha's side forever.
We both woke up at 11. She looked at me and smiled.
"Shit, Avni left without breakfast." She said face palming herself.
"Don't worry she had her breakfast. And dumbo, why are you fighting Avni over a boy?" I asked hitting her forehead.
"You also know he is more than just a boy. He was my defeat." She answered lowering her head.
"Enough enough enough. Avni will be back in two hours, let's prepare a good meal and we all three will sit down together with a movie, just like old times." I said and her face glowed.
We put on music, hits on repeat. We three have a shared playlist, which we listen when together, so everyone's favorite songs con be covered. We danced, we cooked and we chatted. We even recorded a video which was forwarded to Avni.
It was of me and Aisha singing gibberish, to make her laugh. I don't know effect it had on her though, we will eventually find out when she comes home.
It was 1:30, when the bell rang and Aisha dashed to open it, revealing a tried Avni, but she was grinning. We all had a very good Saturday and again slept in till late on Sunday.
"Aisha, remember na, everyone is coming to dinner tonight." Avni said looking at me, I rolled my eyes.
"Yeah, I remember Avni. By the way, what does Ishaan like, Kaira?" Aisha asked battling her eyelashes at me.
"I am sure he will be happy to eat anything made by you." I said with a lip tight smile, to which she grinned.
She was so happy, she was singing and preparing the meal for everyone, Avni was occasionally helping her while me, I am a zero in the kitchen. So, keeping in mind about our safety I just sat there with them. We gossiped a little, and then came the taunts.
Finally, it was time for everyone to arrive. First was Krish, with a bottle of wine, second was Aman, with a bouquet of red rosses exclusively for Avni.
Last but not the least, Ishaan Malhotra made his presence, with three bouquets. One of gardenias, two with yellow roses.
"Welcome, Mr. Malhotra." Aisha said laughing.
"These are for you, pretty lady." He said handing her one bouquet of yellow roses.
"This one's for you, Avni." He said giving her the other yellow roses one.
"This is completely harmless Aman, yellow roses symbolizes friendship." He said winking at Aman, at which Avni laughed.
I was standing in the middle of living room, while everyone was near the dinning table. He slowly approached me.
"These are for you, grumpy woman." He said handing the biggest of three bouquets, Gardenias.
Gardenias, stand for, the secret love.
Heyyyaaa people!🤭🤭🤭. I have been giggling while writing this chapter! I hope you guys enjoy it too.🫶🫶.
