At one time in dinner, I was just staring at Kaira. I don't know why, but I was. From all my experience from novels I have read, this is the first phase of falling for someone...am I falling for grumpy Kaira?
"Mr. Malhotra. It's quite late, we should get going." Kaira spoke, wiping her mouth with a tissue.
"After you." I said, stood up and helped her get out of her chair, to which she rolled her eyes.
"I am more than capable of doing these things on my own. But anyways, thank you." She said, walking towards my thar.
"Woahh, good progress." I said to myself, to which she turned around to face me with an eyebrow raised.
"Well, I made you laugh, and you thanked me too. This is more progress in a day than I have made in two whole years." I said, and a small smile appeared at her lips, but was gone in a puff.
"No smiling yet. Next goal, big smile." I said and held the door open for her.
She didn't have to give me the address as I already knew from the day before. She took out her small pad and a pen. She wrote some things and then turned to me.
"What about the decorations? Till when will it be completed?" She asked.
"Well, I have the layout of the things, and it will be done ditto according to that. So, whichever day you are free, we will put that as a date to discuss the decorations." I replied with a smirk, and I was damn sure she would comment on that date part.
"Firstly, it wasn't a date just now what happened. It was me doing my duty even after office hours. And secondly, come to the office to discuss it, I am not going anywhere after this." She replied lips pressed together.
See, I told you. I have been studying her for two years now. Cut me some slack, please.
We stopped in front of her apartment building, and she saw Avni and Aisha on the balcony and waved. They waved back, but when I got out too, their eyes widened.
"Heyy Ishaan." Aisha shouted.
"Hellloooooo." I replied back while Avni made a gesture that they were coming down.
They were in front of us in a record period of five minutes.
"Exact five minutes. Impressive." I said, and they laughed.
"Let's say we have had a lot of practice." Aisha said, chuckling.
"Let's go back now." Kaira said.
"What? We just came down." Avni said.
"Then you go and roam. I am going up." Kaira said.
"Come on, don't be such a mood spoiler." Aisha said, holding her by the arm.
"Please, I had a very demanding day." Kaira replied, glancing at me, to which I grinned.
"Okay, I also need to go back. Aman can be calling anytime soon." Avni said.
"Awww, look at you. So in love." Aisha said, poking her cheeks. Avni swatted her hands and entangled her arms with Kaira, and they went in.
"Ishaan, can I please get a ride? Pleaseee." Aisha pleaded.
"Sure, hop on." I said laughing, and she sat on the passenger's seat.
After two minutes, she again spoke.
"You like Kaira, hai na?" Wiggling her eyebrows.
"Well, to be honest, I don't know myself yet. I just enjoy poking her, making fun of her. Irritating her. It's the ultimate pleasure. But if you ask, according to the books I have read, it's the first phase of falling, hai na?" I said.
"Oh my god! You read novels?!" She asked.
"Hell yes. They are the guide to my life." I said.
"Answer without thinking, okay?" She said, and I nodded.
"Favorite book?"
"Fault in our stars."
"Favorite author?"
"John Green, Ana Huang, Chetan Bhagat, although I understand some of his books with very difficulty. Jane Austen, for sure. I can't remember any more right now." I replied as much as I could.
"Damn, bro. You are one heavy reader." She said laughing.
"Yeah, I know. You, too, I am guessing." I replied.
"Don't even ask. The number of books I have read and the number of books in my bookshelf, Avni and Kaira, are traumatized, literally." She said laughing, and I joined too.
I like her. She is nice.
"Okay, here we are. I know we connected really well, but don't do something you can't undo and keep irritating Kaira. At least she will smile once in while outside the house." Aisha said, getting out of the jeep.
"Ma'am, yes, ma'am." I said with a mock salute, which she copied and went inside the building. Once, she reached to the balcony and waved, and then I set for my house.
I sat in the back garden of our house, which was decorated with fairy lights and was glowing.
Do I like her? ,
small glass plucked outOr just like to irritate her?
Another piece of grass puckered.Do I like her?
Do I not?
Or is it just irritating her enough for me?
Oh no, no, just irritating her is not enough. I need to see her smile, even if it takes like a million attempts. I will be successful one day for sure.
Yeahhh!!! Keep going, bro. I said, patting myself and going back to my room to the book I was currently reading.
I didn't realize when it was 2 a.m., my nose was in the book. I came out when the real culprit was found. I was reading a mystery book of Indian author.
A murder in a minute.
Well, I am a vivid romance reader, but now a days I have hoped onto mystery and murder.
I literally shouted when they found the murderer.Bhaiya poked his head inside my room.
"Sleep idiot and stop shouting at 2 am." He said.
"Wait, why are you up so late?" I asked.
"Was working and going back to sleep when I heard your oh not so scary scream." He said.
"You know na, I am always available. I can even help you, but no, you don't need me." I said, snorting.
"Sleep, little brother. I can handle it." He said laughing.
"Okay, if you say. Goodnight." I said and pulled the blanket up to my chin. He switched off the lights, shut my door again, and went to his own room.
Double updatee!! Thank me in the comments ow dear people! Enjoy and keep reading for more of Ishaan's and Kaira's adventures. BYeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!
