What a busy schedule...! I sighed, sitting in my cubicle.
Firday, gala with Ishaan. Saturday, Diwali party, that reminds me I need to get passes for Aishu and Avni, too. Then, on Sunday, Avni's proposal.
"Kaira, come in for a second, please." Ambassador ma'am called. I got up and went into her cabin after knocking twice.
A man turned in his chair to look at me.
Pratik Verma? No, this can't be true.
"Kaira, this is Pratik Verma. He is an MP from Uttar Pradesh." She said, and I greeted him with a nod.
I still can't believe it's the same Pratik Verma.
"He will be attending the Diwali party with us. Please take him to your cabin and issue a vip pass." She said, and I replied in affirmative.
Well, I am not the meek girl who was afraid of him back then. If he comes near me, either he will be in the OT or I will be in jail.
He stood up and started follwoing me to my cabin.
"Ms. Kaira Bhardwaj, you have changed way too much." He commented, sitting down leisurely.
I didn't reply cause this man here is just a peoc of trash on whom I shouldn't need to waste my energy.
"Oh, you got the attitude too, hann." He said with a smirk, still no reply.
"Come on bitch answer me." He said getting irritated.
"One more darw you try to call me bitch, you will have you ass landed in poilce station." I darkly threatened him, his eyes were red with anger.
"Here's your pass, and now get out of my cabin. I will have to spray sanitizer everywhere you touched." I spat at him, and he left quietly, not wanting to make a scene.
I thumped on my chair and immediately dialed Aisha and narrated everything. She told me to see a counselor, but I was too afraid in college, so she became mine. She doesn't treat me, but whenever anything heavy happens, she's the one I call.
I took a half day off, and when I reached home, it was evening already. I had spent 2 hours sitting in the subway station. Why? Because I was lost in my thoughts so much that I missed my tube.
Aisha was sitting on the couch, bouncing her leg continuously, and Avni was pacing. I enetered and they immediately hugged me.
"You said you left your office two hours ago?!" Aisha demanded.
"I got lost in my thoughts and missed the tube." I admitted to them. They made me sit on the couch, I was still in a kind of trance, all the memories of college resurfacing.
"It's alright, Kairu, we are here na. Don't worry." Aisha spoke.
"Come on broo, I know you are stronger than this." Avni too spoke from other side.
"Yeah, yeah, I know I am stronger, and you two are here too. I am just gonna go and take a shower." I said and went to my room.
I steeped into the shower and broke down. Tears running down along my cheeks. All the memories projecting in my closed eyes.
Dark room, ropes, abuses, hand slaps, camera clicks. I gasped and opened my eyes.
I tried the deel breathing technique Aishu taught and got better before leaving the washroom.
I went back to the living room and saw Avni talking on the phone while Aisha was setting the table.
"Aman, I won't be able to come to meet you today." She said.
"Yeah, yeah, fine. I can't handle your tantrums right now. I got something more important." She said and cut the call.
"You know you don't have to cancel your plans because me." I said.
"Nahhh, you are important too." She said, holding my hand. It felt good to be important to someone.
"Avni seeee, morning's pictures." Aisha said, handing Avni the phone, and I dashed to snatch it from her.
"Woooohooooo." Avni shouted and started giggling with Aisha.
"Someone in under Ishaan's effect." She said, wiggling her eyebrows.
"You know what this calls for?" Aisha asked with a full-grown grin.
"Dance party." Avni and she boht shouted. We all three loved to dance, even though we don't know how to, we were good dancers, actually.
"First dinner or dance?" I asked.
"Di, you even need to ask that?" Avni said, collecting our phones, ste it on silent and into the drawer. It is kind of a rule. Whenever we have a dance party or anything with just three of us, all doors should be locked, and phones should be in the drawer.
Indian bollywood songs were back to back, and punjabi songs were there too. I literally forgot everything when we started having fun. Ultimately, we got tired, and songs were switched to romantic ones.
We were singing tum mile on full volume when our door burst open, and we sat in an instant.
But when we saw who was at the door, we again lay on the carpeted floor and resumed our singing. There is no need to pay attention to the three monkeys standing there arma fold.
"Done?" Krish asked bored when Aisha switched it off finally.
"Nope, we got the whole night left." She said.
"Not funny." He replied.
"Excuse me, who even called you here." She said, matching his posture, folding her arms.
"I was dragged in here." He said.
"So let me drag you back out there." She said, and Krish rolled his eyes.
"There are phones to use not to shut in the drawers." Aman said as Avni was taking out our phones.
Holy shit, 20+ missed calls of Ishaan, 5+ of Aman, and lots of texts from all three. We went incognito for two hours, and they crumbled, wow.
"Okay, what's the problem?" I asked.
They started looking at one and other and then spoke at the same time, sounding gibberish.
"Okay, gentlemen, one by one, please." Aisha said. We three were standing, having those three at the doorstep.
"We tried calling, but you all didn't pick up. I paniced and called Ishaan." Aman said.
"Then I tried calling you, but no response, so we all rushed here." Ishaan said.
"Too cute you people are." Aisha said, pinching Ishaan's and Aman's cheeks while they swatted her hands, and she laughed.
