It was Friday morning at work when I was called into my boss's cabin.
"Kaira, I want you to go and finalize all the things for the diwali event with Mr. Malhotra. And report it on Monday positively. We need to send out invites and attendance lists, too." She said, writing something on her pad.
"Sure will do Ma'am. Anything else?" I asked.
"Yeah, check the list of all the visa applications for me." She said, and I set out to work.
I decided to drop a small email to Ishaan.
Mr. Malhotra,
Ambassador Ma'am wants to check and finalize all the things for the Diwali event next weekned. I will accompany you to check everything. Send me the venue and time, and I will be present there.I hit send. Just if his person disappears, half of my problems will be solved automatically. His small anecdotes are not at all amusing ninety-five percent time, but to be honest, that five percent I truly enjoy. Atleast, some one is daring enough to talk to me like that.
Shivam or any other person here can't just muster up the courage to talk like that to me, mostly because one time someone did, and that went too far. I got him reported.
He can't degrade me because I am a brown girl, so I simply showed him what a desi brown girl could do.
He replied within minutes. Doesn't this man run a full fledged big ass event management company? How is he this free?
I clicked on the email, and a pop out came suddenly, I felt like laughing, seeing a video of two zombies growling on the screen.
He got me all wrong, I am not one of those rom com ones, I am though and through horror girl.
"7 pm, White Wester Garden Halls." was the venue. It was one of the polished ones in the whole of London. I just hope that the dude kept our budget in mind and did not spend all the money on the ground alone.
After work, I got there. I need to inspect it today only as me, Aishu, and Avni are going car shopping tomorrow. We all have finally saved enough money to buy a car, now only paris trip jar was left.
"Ms. Bhardwaj?" A man asked, and I nodded. He led to the gardens where Mr. Malhotra was already standing in all his glory.
I cleared my throat and he turned back, he was actually looking good, in brown shirt and black pants, but would I ever tell him that? Hell no, his ego is already at the highest level, I wouldn't wanna boost it even further above.
"I know I am looking good, you don't have to stare Kaira. I am all yours for the rest of night." He said and I averted my eyes to meet his. His eyes were dancing with amusement, and me, I got caught staring at him.
"If you are done with your cheesy lines, can we move forward." I said walking around, seeing the garden. It was first time I was seeing it, but it looked so godly heavenly. All the lightings were perfect and that one little fountain in the corner was just going with the vibe.
Everyone will sure be impressed by this Diwali party, that's for sure. I turned back, only to see Ishaan staring at me.
"What do you think?" He asked once I took a full around the garden or ground, I am not sure what it is exactly.
"I just hope that you kept our Diwali budget in mind before booking this." I said.
"Don't worry, everything's sorted." he said with a grin, his one hand held his blazer coat, while other dangled ideally.
"Next is caterers, shall we?" He asked forwarding his hand, nope, not gonna take it,
"I don't know, shall we? I think we should." I answered and moved forward, a small smile on my lips, as I heard his chuckle behind me.
He sent his PA home, saying that he will handle from here by himself. He opened the door for me, as I stepped into his thar. He had that kadda on his left hand, which all punjabis kind of have. My brother has one too.
He held the door of the restaurant, as we took our table. The manager approached us.
"We are here for the tasting, my PA would have called in the afternoon." Ishaan replied.
"Ah, yes Sir. We will serve you shortly." Manger replied and hurried off.
"You know, this restaurant's chicken lollipop and noodles are the best, like not so oily and everything just in right amount." He said.
"So, I take it, you are a big foodie." I said.
"Very big one, although, you won't get the items with simple name. You will have to play treasure hunt on the menu, to find which one are veg noodles in sophisticated language." He said and at that I laughed.
"Oh my god." He gasped suddenly.
"What now?" I asked giving him side eye.
"I made you laugh. I made The Kaira Bhardwaj laugh. Oh, my day is made, and I am blessed." He said dramatically. He should meet Aisha, they would become such good friends, with the amount of drama they do.
"Okay, enough." I said.
"And, she's back." He said rolling his eyes.
The food came, it was truly delicious, moan worthy. I made a mental note to inform Aisha and Avni about this place as soon as I get home.
Heloooo peoplee!! Another chapter up, give lots of love to Kaira and Ishaan and be happy always, I will just return to my work now. Byeeeeeeeeee~!!!!!!!!
