'Angel?'
'It's you', she says as recognition flashes in her eyes, 'What are you doing here?'
Jason looked beyond confused as he looked at the two of us.
I looked at Jason saying, 'You tell me. What am I doing here?'
'Jason brought you here?', Angel asked, shock evident in her voice.
'Yeah. What's wrong with that?', I asked. She looked at Jason silently asking for permission to say something. Jason nodded before she focused at me again.
'He's my brother', she simply said before adding a small 'Unfortunately'.
'Your brother?', I said before finally realizing why her eyes seemed so familiar the first time I saw her, they were just like Jason's.
Then I narrowed my eyes and looked at Jason, 'You didn't tell me you had a sister.' He just shrugged and entered his car starting the engine indicating we should get in.
Angel was back seat and I was next to Jason as he drove out of the parking lot.
'So how did you guys meet?', Jason asked once we were a few feet away from the school.
I was going to explain but Angel beat me to it saying, 'She's the girl I met at the hospital.'
'Really?', he said looking at me from the corner of his eyes. I nodded slightly, confirming her statement.
'Who would thought the girl you talked about was the girl I saw everyday', he said shaking his head slightly.
'I didn't get a chance to ask why you were in the hospital', I said looking at Angel but I could also see Jason visibly stiffen.
'She just went for a check up', he said.
'Is that why you were in the hospital?', I asked.
None of them answered as Jason kept on driving his eyes strictly on the road while Angel was avoiding eye contact.
After about five minutes of awkward silence Jason finally spoke, his voice rough 'Angel was having an asthma attack the night before so we stayed there to ensure it wasn't very serious.'
'So that's why you were speeding like a maniac auditioning for fast and furious', I said remembering the night of the party.
Angel looked shocked as she stared at her brother while Jason had this look of realization saying, 'You saw that?'
'Yeah, you passed Mark's house when I was leaving the party. Coincidence, I guess', I said. He just nodded his head.
'Where are we going?', I asked when I finally concentrated on the road.
'My house', he said as the rest of the ride went on in silence.
'Welcome to my humble abode', he said as he opened the door to his house.
He lived in a stunning mansion, the inside a nice combination of brown and beige.
The walls were painted in a soothing beige color and adorned with frames of Jason and his sister, none of his parents though. The living room was adorned with plush carpets and brown furniture.
A staircase that led upstairs was situated at a corner. Close to it was the massive dining room with a crystal chandelier hanging overhead and the kitchen was like a chef's dream with different cabinets and countertops made of rich, dark wood.
I could tell there was more rooms in the house but I figured I'd get a grand tour later.
'Impressive. What do your parents do?', I asked still checking out the house, kind of like how he was when he entered my house.
