I wake with a slight headache turning my head to stare at the framed picture of the guys and I during our special practice resting securely on my bedside table, a gift from Ty from the previous day. One amongst many I think as recall the events that happened.
Ash gave me a pair of really cute sneakers, one I'm sure would turn to one of my favorite shoes. I got a silver bracelet from Mark with a cute little S charm hanging off it and Jason got me a silver heart shaped pendant with a tiny picture of the four of us from the aftermath of Ash's prank.
I honestly have no idea how he managed to put it in the pendant within a few hours but it was really sweet of him, of all of them really.
Immediately I saw the pendant, I practically glued it to my neck and made a solemn promise to myself never to take it off.
I spent the entire morning on my bed lost in my playlist since the guys hadn't responded to my texts probably still sleeping.
I was still in my own world when I started to hear faint noises coming from downstairs. It sounded like things were being...moved?
I went to check it out only to see maids moving in every direction cleaning furniture, waxing, cooking, basically everything maids do when there is meant to be an important event. 'But that can't be...', I whispered to myself roaming deeper through the organized chaos that is now my house.
It was a bit disorienting watching different maids in the house, it's usually just Grace or a maid or two to tidy up a bit, never a full crew.
I made my way to the kitchen trying to see if I could spot Grace in this chaos desperately hoping she would tell me the exact opposite of what I think is happening here.
I spotted Grace next to a team of chefs making what looked like food enough for a mini festival making me dread what I'm about to confirm from her.
'Grace?' I called getting her attention before asking, 'Any chance I'm overthinking things and this isn't what it looks like?'
Grace gave me a remorseful look in response, 'Don't tell me you forgot that your parents were arriving today?'
'I completely forgot about the phone call I had with my father a few days ago. I was so caught up with the party, and I probably just let it skip my mind', I groaned saying the last part more to myself noting the slight lift of her eyebrow.
According to what I recall, he would be here by 2. Checking my phone for the time it was only 3 minutes after 12, well no wonder the maids were in a hurry, everything needed to be perfect before then, including me.
I didn't have time to respond to Grace's criticizing look as I squeezed past the flurry of maids back to my bedroom to get ready.
I don't think It's very surprising at this point that my father is rich, but one very important thing about him is that he's a perfectionist, meaning everything in his power MUST be perfect. Which is why I'm slightly going into panic mode as I try to pick out the perfect outfit.
As I checked out my reflection after quickly dressing up the only thought that popped up in my head was how stupid it was for me to be dressing up to meet my own father but I really couldn't bring myself to do anything but that. My father was really judgy.
I wore a well-fitted crisp white poplin shirt paired with a beige midi skirt and a pair of nude ballet flats. I still wore my pendant coupled with Mark's bracelet. I almost looked like I was going golfing.
Only a few minutes were left before their arrival and all the maids that weren't needed had left while the others that would be of service stayed behind getting into their assigned positions for the day.
