Unexpected News (revamp)

After Arlo's birth (January 2024)

I woke up to the sound of crying, I sat up and picked Arlo up. He's probably hungry so I lifted up my top and let him latch onto my boob. Jesse stirred and put his hand on my thigh.

"Morning." Jesse said with a raspy voice. "How are you feeling?"

"I'm alright, my pussy hurt I'm ok." I joke, he laughed and moved closer to me.

"How's the little guy." He said, rubbing Arlo's back with his index finger

"He's good, he's quite calm." I said looking down at Arlo who was looking up at me. "You're a calm baby aren't you." I say in my baby voice to him. "What time is it?"

"6:47 pm." Jesse said looking at his phone. "Do you want anything to eat?"

"Umm, yeah." I said to him now that i'm thinking about it, I am kinda hungry.

"What do you want?" He asked, getting out of bed to put some shorts on.

"Can you make me some spicy noodle soup please?" I ask him with puppy eyes. He nodded and left the room, kissing me before he left. I got the remote for the tv and went on netflix.

About 10 minutes later, Jesse came into our room with a bowl of noodle soup. I thanked him and he got back into bed. I put it on my bedside table because I can't really eat when I'm breastfeeding.

Arlo latched off so I asked Jesse to get the burping towel. I put it over my shoulder and burped Arlo. Once he was done, I put him into the crib on the side of our bed, got my noodle soup and sat back so I could eat it while watching netflix.

Once I was done, Jesse took my bowl off me and took it into the kitchen, he walked back into our bedroom and back into bed. I cuddled up to him until I got a notification. I looked at it was Finneas asking me how things were going.

I told him that everything was good and I was asking about Nova, he said that Nova and Claudia are watching Tangled and making cookies for me which melted my heart. He said she was really excited about her baby brother and can't wait to meet him.

Billie handed the phone to me because she wanted to go to sleep and I started to talk to Finneas about how she was and stuff like that.

"I'm a bit nervous to be honest." I admitted to him, walking into the kitchen so Billie couldn't hear.

"Don't be, you are really good to Nova, she does really like you. You're already a pro." Finneas said to comfort me. "Just make sure you let Billie rest, when Nova was a newborn, Billie did not get any sleep and she was really stressed out."

"She's asleep now, I'm going to help her as much as possible though, don't worry." I said to him, Arlo started to cry so we ended the call so I could go check on him.

I walked back into the bedroom to see Billie getting up to sort out Arlo. I quickly took him before she could and checked what was wrong with him. He needed his diaper changed so I went into the nursery and put him on the changing table. I've been practicing how to put a diaper on so this should be easy, right.

I took his dirty diaper off and into the bin and got a new one out to put on him. I slipped it under him and managed to put it on. I picked him up and kissed his cheek and then carried him out. I saw Billie in the doorway watching me change his diaper.

"Were you spying on me?!" I gasped with my hand on my heart. She laughed and started walking back to our room. "I can't believe you were spying on me."

"Oh shush, I just wanted to watch you incase you needed help." She said, sitting back down in bed and leaning on the headboard.
