Unexpected News (revamp)

"Good morning Nova!" I said to Nova when I noticed her walked out of her room.

"Morning mama, morning Arlo." She said as she stood on her tippy toes to see Arlo who was strapped against my chest with the sling.

"What do you want for breakfast?" I asked her when we walked into the kitchen.

"Can I have pancakes please?" She asked, placing her hands onto the counter and jumping up and down.

"Of course you can, with chocolate chips?" I smirked at her then saw her smile grow.

"Yes please." She giggled and I squeezed her cheeks.

"There are my favourite girls" Jesse said when he walked in then gave Nova and I a kiss on our temples. "Hello my baby boy." He said when he kissed Arlo's head.

"Shark!" Nova giggled as she started to chase shark around.

"Would you like some chocolate chips pancake?" I asked Jesse when he put his arms around my waist.

"Ooh yes please." He said in my neck. Arlo started to cry and I could tell that he wanted feeding.

"Can you make the pancakes please?" I asked Jesse and he nodded before I walked to the table to breastfeed Arlo.

"Nova, pancakes are ready." Jesse said when he popped his head out from the kitchen to get Nova.
He plated up the pancakes and then put strawberries on for eyes and a smile made of vegan whipped cream.

"Thank you daddy!" She squealed as she started jumping up and down. "Mama look!"

"I know that's so cute!" I squealed to Nova as she started to eat. "Thank you Jesse." I smiled at Jesse, he smiled back before giving me a plate of pancakes.

Once I finished eating, I stood up and then walked over to the couch. Nova walked up to me and looked at Arlo who was breastfeeding.

"When are we going nanny and papas?" Nova asked when she laid her head on my shoulder.

"Around 10 so in an hour okay, do you want to put your pretty dress on?" I asked her and she nodded with a little smile because she's been obsessing over that dress. "Go put it on then baby." I said when I kissed her head before she ran off.

"Hey, is he eating alright now?" Jesse asked because the night before, Arlo was crying like he was hungry but not sucking any milk out, almost like he forgot how to eat or something.

"Yeah he's eating fine now, aren't you baby boy." I said as I stroked Arlo's cheek with my thumb.

Arlo spat out my nipple so I placed him against his shoulder to burp him. Jesse and I walked into my bedroom to get dressed. I placed Arlo in his bassinet next to the bed so I could get dressed. I got dressed into a floral dress and then picked Arlo up to get him dressed.

I walked into his room and then placed him on the floor while I got out a short sleeve, no legged onesie for Arlo. I changed his diaper and then placed the onesie on him. I picked him up and kissed his cheek before placing him against my chest.

"Mama, I'm ready!" Nova said when she jumped out of her room in her floral dress.

"You look so pretty!" I gasped as she twirled around to make the dress twirl. "Do you want me to do your hair?" I asked her and she nodded.

I quickly walked into my room to get the baby sling to wrap around my torso so Arlo can nap while I do Nova's hair. I put her hair into half up half down with little pigtails then tied them with bow hair ties.
