I woke up to the sound of Nova crying, I got out of bed and walked over to her crib then picked her up. I cradled her in my arms and rocked her so she would calm down but she didn't.

I picked her pacifier up from her crib and put it in her mouth to see if that would calm her down but it didn't. I placed her body against my chest and her head was on my shoulder, then I started to walk around my room but she still didn't calm down.

I sat down in bed, moved her so she was cradled in my arms again and then pulled my tank top down. I tried to get her to latch on but she didn't. I tried again but she didn't want to latch on so I pulled my tank top up again and placed her against my chest.

"It's okay Nova, it's okay." I whispered to her to try and get her to stop crying but she didn't. My door opened and I saw mom at my door. She walked in and sat down on my bed.

"Are you okay?" She asked when she sat down.

"I don't know how to make her stop crying." I said with a lump in my throat.

"She probably just wants you." Mom said, I nodded and started drawing shapes on Nova's back. "Just move her down a bit so she can hear your heartbeat." She said so I moved her down to where my heart is and she started calming down a little.

"I don't know why she won't stop crying and I can't make her stop." I said as my eyes started to tear up.

"It's okay, babies just cry for no reason. She was only born, what? 12 hours ago." She said as she held my hand. "You're doing an amazing job Billie, you're an amazing mom already and Nova is very luck to have you as her mom."

"Thanks mom." I said as the tears in my eyes started to fall down my cheeks. Mom laughed and wiped the tears from my face.

I looked down at Nova and saw that she was asleep. I kissed her head and stroked her back. Mom stood up the kissed me on the head before leaving my room. I placed Nova back in her crib and then went to bed.

I woke up to Nova crying again so I went over to her crib and picked her up. I held her against my chest and walked around my room. I got into bed and pulled my tank top down. This time she did latch on so that was good.

She ate for around 20 minutes and when she was done, I pulled my tank top back up and placed her on my shoulder to burp her. She burped and then I felt something wet go down my shoulder. I took her off of my shoulder and saw that she threw up.

She started crying so I stood up and rocked her a little while walking to the bathroom to get a towel to clean up. I tried my best to clean my shoulder one handed and when I did, I wiped the sick off of her mouth.

She was still crying and I didn't want to wake my parents up so I closed my bedroom and cradled her in my arms. I put her pacifier in her mouth then I started walking around my room while rocking her and talking to her so she would hopefully go to sleep.

I came up with the idea of singing to her so I started to sing come out and play. Her cries started to die down as I kept singing which was good. Once she had eventually stopped crying, I kept singing to her while rocking her and after a couple of minutes, she fell asleep.

I placed her in her bassinet, next to my bed so I didn't have to get up, I could just move to her bassinet. I laid on my left side and watched as she slept. I stroked her brown hair and then her right cheek.

I can't believe I'm a mom. I've always wanted to be a mom, maybe not at 18 but still, I think I will manage.
