"Why did she show up!?" Exclaimed Alexandra when the three men of her life joined her at the back of the stage, having noticed her pale expression. "Why would Isobel show up here, and why now!?"

"Maybe she wanted to send a message," offered Nathaniel. "She knows everything about us because of Ric, and she also knows about our ability with the Protection Spell. She probably wanted to warn us that she's not afraid or something."

Her phone beeped, indicating that she had a newly arrived message.

With a frown on her face, she acquired her phone from the nearby table and opened up the message, her spine shivered when she read its content.

From: Unknown Number.

You really killed it tonight, I enjoyed it.

I hope you still practise your French.

A bientôt, ma chérie.

[See you soon, my darling.]

"Who is it?" Asked Gabriel, bewildered.

Alexandra didn't meet their gaze.

"Isobel."

After Alexandra had signed hundreds of autographs and took another hundreds of photographs with her fans and Band mates, she took a walk to clear her mind, away from the fans and all.

Until she came upon Matt.

"Alexa, hey!" Smiled the blond and hugged her immediately. "You were great, tonight. I loved it!"

"Ken-cake," she mumbled and embraced him back. "Always kind."

"How are you?" He enquired when she pulled back. "I haven't seen you since The Grill."

"Well, I'm a busy girl," she worded. "I have much to do with finishing rebuilding my family residence, by attending appointments for the Orphanage and... I don't even know what else."

"Yeah, but... you're safe, aren't you?"

This seemed to concern the Shadowhunter and then recalled the incident in The Grill, where Matt was also acting weird about her safety.

"Why are you asking, Matt?" She faked sweetness.

The Donovan boy froze for a moment, his blue eyes not leaving her brown ones until he finally responded, "Because you must be kept safe."

Another memory flashed into her mind when she noticed him holding his phone, tightly, like he was about to use it soon.

"Oh, I almost forgot!" He pulled a small piece of paper from his pocket and gave it to Alexandra. "Here's my new phone number, so you can save it."

"What happened to your old one?" Queried the Nephilim, curious.

"Nothing," replied the blond, dismissingly.

The two women met each other's gaze. "Then why did you replace it?" Spoke Jenna, perplexed.

Matt froze for a moment, gazing at the empty. "I-I don't know. I just know that it should be done, shortly. It was necessary for me to change it."

Alexandra didn't like this...

Matt's words did not appear to convince her, almost certain that he was being dishonest. But what was the reason for him to hide the truth?
